Tables Around Town
On Saturday, May 4th we’ll be hosting the sixth annu-
al Tables Around Town fundraiser here at the Senior
Center. All monies raised will go toward continuing to
bring programs of interest and improve communica-
tion to Seniors and our community as well as keep the
lights on.
The evening begins with a cocktail hour at 5 pm. This
year appetizers prepared by Taher will be served by
members of the NBHS Football team. Dinner, live
and silent auction as well as some fun new games will
complete the evening.
Dinner tickets are $50 each and can be purchased at
the office at the Sr Center or by calling Jane Fisk at
612-581-7571.
Sponsorships in any amount are also welcome! See
you there!

3rd Thursday of the month at 9:30
am and are open to the public.
Everyone is invited to attend.
We hope you’re enjoying the now FREE news-
letter provided by the Senior Center! This is
possible thanks to the generosity and continued
support of individuals and local businesses.
Our website is www.chisagosrcenter.org and
the newsletter in its entirety, including the
monthly calendar and menu are posted there.
That is an easily accessible option for some
and/or their family members. Please feel free
to share that information.
If you know of anyone who would like to re-
ceive the newsletter in the US mail, please let
the office know and we’ll add them to the mail-
ing list. On the flip side, if you have moved or
no longer wish to have the newsletter mailed to
you, please also let the office know. We aim to
be good stewards of the blessings entrusted to
us.

Bunny Bait Easter Treat
8 cups popped pop corn
2 cups pretzel sticks broken in half
1 small bag milk choc pastel M&M’s
1 small bag white choc pastel M&M’s
12 oz white candy coating
12 oz pink candy coating (or white
coating with food coloring added)
Mix popcorn, pretzels and M&M’s in a large
bowl. Melt the white chocolate according to
pkg directions. Gradually drizzle over pop-
corn mixture and stir. This takes a minute.
Line a baking sheet with waxed paper or
parchment. Quickly pour popcorn mixture
evenly into the prepared pan. Allow to set
approx. 15 minutes.
Melt the pink candy coating according to
pkg directions. Drizzle over the mixture and
stir. Let set for 15 min. Break apart and
enjoy!
Store in an air
tight contain-
er for up to 3
days.

NAPS (Nutrition Assistance Program for Seniors)
1st Wednesday from 8am to 9 am
If you are 60 years old or older; your
income meets NAPS guidelines and you
do not live in a facility that provides
meals you may qualify for NAPS.
Qualifying older Minnesota adults
receive a free supplemental food package
each month.
The package includes a nutritious
balance of shelf-stable food, plus reduced
fat cheese.

with Chisago County Senior Center!
Are you currently volunteering or thinking about volunteer-
ing, and are 55+? RSVP invites you to join at no cost and
receive volunteer benefits such as: Personalized Assistance,
Free Supplemental Insurance, Annual Recognition Event,
Travel Reimbursement, E-Newsletter and Be Counted as
Part of a National Movement.
RSVP, one of the largest volunteer networks in the nation,
has matched the skills and experience of people 55+ with
the needs of their communities since 1971. They can help
create a customized volunteer opportunity to match your
skills, interests, schedule and geographic availability. Local-
ly, the RSVP program serves an eleven county area. Service
areas include food security, veteran support, well-being for
seniors and people with disabilities, health, fitness, driver
safety and more.
Many volunteer opportunities are available including:
*Assisting in the office and/or other duties at the Senior
Center.
*Assisting food shelves and outreach programs in packag-
ing and distributing food.
*Being a friendly visitor
*Driving people to doctor appointments and errands.
*Delivering meals to home-bound people.
*Taking grocery orders or shopping for those who can’t get
out.
*Shoveling, raking or helping with home chores.
*Providing light carpentry skills to make minor home safe-
ty/accessibility modifications.
Assisting in the Chisago County courtroom as a volunteer
bailiff.
RSVP Wellness offers free exercise programs which use
training and balance exercises as core components to pre-
vent falls and strengthen bones and joints. *Free training
provided to those who wish to become a volunteer exercise
leader.
CarFit increases older driver safety through friendly, fun
and educational public events that provide a quick, compre-
hensive check of how well drivers and their vehicles’ safety
features work together. People drive their vehicles to a Car-
Fit event and a trained volunteer technician goes over a 12-
point checklist. *You can help by taking our free CarFit
technician training.
