CONSTANTSThe constants to be entered into the Setup Mode Memory locations describe theLiquid Sprayer System to the DjCMS200. The console uses these entered values tomake computations regarding area and product accumulations. NOTE: Some of theConstant values are the same as used in the DjCCS100 Console.

Referring to the Constant List note that it contains two lists of constants. The list underthe SPRAYER (BASED ON PRESSURE) heading is used when the DjCMS200 isinstalled on a pressure based Liquid Sprayer System. The list under the SPRAYER(BASED ON FLOW) heading is used when the DjCMS200 is installed on a flowbasedliquid sprayer system. The List under the CONSTANTS common to P, F, and FF areused when installed on either type of system.

IMPORTANT: If the DjCMS200 Monitor is installed in conjunction with a DjCCS100Control System (using a "Y" cable), the constants which are common to both themonitor and control system should have the same value.

C1. CONVERSION FACTOR - The Conversion Factor is the comparison of theweight of 1 gallon (liter) of product to the weight of 1 gallon (liter) of water.

weight of 1 gallon (liter productweight of 1 gallon (liter) water

NOTE: If the CMS200 is used with the CCS100, refer to the Control System Constantsand enter the same CONVERSION FACTOR value.

C2. SUM OF NOZZLE CAPACITIES - The Sum of Nozzle Capacities Constant is thetotal flow in gallons per minute (liters per minute) of all nozzles atthe NozzleCapacity Pressure. This value is the Nozzle Flow Capacity multiplied by thenumber of nozzles. If a catch test is performed it is the sum of all the nozzleflow capacities at the nozzle capacity pressure.

C4. NOZZLE CAPACITY PRESSURE - The Nozzle Capacity Pressure constant isobtained from your Nozzle Manufacturer's Specification sheet. This pressureis the pressure at which the nozzle flow capacity is determined.

C5. PRESSURE SENSOR OFFSET- The Pressure Sensor Offset is a number thatmatches the Pressure Transducer to the Control Console. This number isobtained by performing the following procedure. NOTE: This constantshould be the same as the ZERO PRESSURE CALIBRATION constant in theDjCCS100 Console. Manually enter the constant value using the DIGITSELECT and DIGIT SET touch switches.

IMPORTANT: There must be zero pressure on the spray bar at the location of thePressure Transducer when performing this calibration.

Step 1. Press and hold the RESETtouch switch for approximately 5 seconds or untilthe full display stops flashing and the continuous alarm stops sounding.

NOTE: When the touch switch is first pressed the single flashing digit will incrementone value and the alarm will chirp. Continue to hold the touch switch and afterapproximately 2 seconds all four digits will flash and the alarm will sound.

When the alarm or the flashing stops the Calibration is complete and the numbershown on the display is the Pressure Sensor Offset value.

C6. TANK LEVEL-FULL (+10 ) - The Tank Level-Full Constant is the total numberof gallons (liters) contained in the producttank divided by 10 (ten). EXAMPLE:If your tank contained 2000 gallons (liters) of product, your Tank Level-Fullconstant would be 200.

APPENDIX B

The Ground Speed Calibration Constant (UG) is a number that matches the GroundSpeed Sensor to the console. This number is obtained by driving the vehicle over ameasured course while performing the calibration procedure.

The DjCMS200 Ground Speed Calibration Constant has two entry methods: (1)Manually entering a known value and (2) performing the calibration procedure. Themanual entry location is the first entered when UG is displayed and is identified by asingle digit flashing. This entry method is used to enter a known value from theDjCCS100 Console or an average that is obtained by performing the calibrationprocedure several times. Averaging of the calibration procedure numbers will en-hance the accuracy of the vehicle ground speed. Touching the SETUPswitch advancesto the second method and is identified by all four digits flashing on the display. TheGround Speed Calibration can be determined as follows:

1. Measure a 400 ft. (122 meter) in-field course (preferably on level ground). Markthe start and finish so it will be plainly visible from the cab as you drive past.

2. System must be in SETUP mode with UG displayed and in the second GroundSpeed Calibration position (all digits flashing).

3. Drive up to the start of marked course at a slow (minimum of 2 mph (km/h)operating speed.

4. When even with the start marker, touch the center touch switch. The displayreadout should go to 0 (zero) then start counting up as you are moving.

5. Continue to drive the measured course at a constant speed. When even with thefinish marker, touch the center touch switch.

G. The Ground Speed Calibration number will be displayed on the console'sreadout. Record this number for future reference.

IMPORTANT: It is recommended thatthe above Ground Speed Calibration procedurebe repeated 3 or 4 times and the displayed numbers averaged. Enter the resultingaverage in console memory using the manual entry method.

APPENDIX D

The RPM Sensor can be installed to sense the RPM of a rotating shaft. To do this, thesensor end (opposite the cabling) must be installed adjacent to a cam type (gear)rotating shaft collar or magnets equally positioned around the shaft.

The maximum readable RPM of a shaft is dependent on two factors: (1) number ofsensed points and (2) the ratio between the tooth area and space area between teeth. The following formula and illustrations show the relationship of the ratio and numberof sensed points to maximum readable RPM.

M RPM = dz ( 14400 )ax. c:r; Number of sensed points

EXAMPLE:Single Sensed Pointdz = d1

Maximum Readable RPM = 14,400 RPM

EXAMPLE:Three Sensed Pointsdz = d,Maximum Readable RPM = 4,800 RPM

Page 35: TABLEOFCONTENTS - DICKEY-john · 2019-02-08 · The DjCMS200 Sprayer Monitor will provide readouts of Ground Speed, Shaft RPM, Total Area, Partial Area, Total Time, Partial Time,

QjCMS200 ---,e"DieK~.Y&.i ohriSPRAYER MONITOR

The following Table showing maximum readable shaft RPM is usable only when d2equals d,. In other cases the above formula must be used for proper application.

SENSED MAXIMUM RPM DISPLAYPOINTS RPM CONSTANT

1 14,400 602 7,200 303 4,800 204 3,600 155 2,880 126 2,400 107 2,050 8.5718 1,800 7.59 1,600 6.66610 1,440 615 960 420 720 325 576 2.430 480 260 240 1

The higher number of sensed points will provide a higher resolution of the RPMreadout and alarm point. The number of sensed points should be selected dependingon the desired maximum RPM alarm point.

EXAMPLE: If your maximum RPM is 3500 RPM, you would select 4 equally spacedsensed points with a RPM display constant of 15.
