1.2. Variation
1.2.1. The TTA Board may vary any of these Regulations in its discretion by an absolute
majority vote.
1.2.2. Any State/Territory Member or registered player (including an international player)

with a State/Territory (such player must also comply with the general eligibility
requirements set out in Chapter 8 and Chapter 9).
1.4. ITTF-Oceania Participants

events) into a National Championships from any country affiliated as a Member with
the International Table Tennis Federation - Oceania (“ITTF-Oceania”) in its
discretion (the Board shall take into account the relative playing standard of such
player(s) and the suitability of such players to participate in a National
Championships).
1.5. Other International Participants
1.5.1. Where an international player (player of an association affiliated with the
International Table Tennis Federation (“ITTF”) does not fall under Regulation 1.4.1,
the TTA Board may permit the entry of such players (both in team events and
individual events) into a National Championships in its discretion where special
circumstances are demonstrated.
1.6. Deeming of Non-National Participants
1.6.1. The entry of any team or player (under Regulation 1.4.1 or Regulation 1.5.1) is

Table Tennis Australia - National Championships Regulations – Juniors; Senior, Youth & Para; Veterans Page 5 of 28
1.6.2. Where a team is entered into the National Championships under Regulation 1.4.1 or
Regulation 1.5.1, such team is deemed to be a State/Territory for the purposes of
Chapter 8 of the Regulations. Where a player is entered into the National
Championships under Regulation 1.4.1 or Regulation 1.5.1, such player is deemed
to be a registered member of a State/Territory for the purposes of Chapter 9 of these
Regulations.
2. CHAPTER 2 - HOSTING OF NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
2.1. Hosting and Event Agreement
2.1.1. TTA are the sole rights holders for all National Championships and are the Host for

2.1.2. TTA will work in collaboration with States/Territories to implement all National
Championships. The State/Territory are the Co-Host for the National
Championships.
2.1.3. The State/Territory will Co-Host the National Championships, subject to the
execution of a satisfactory “Event Agreement” between TTA and the State/Territory
as to the conduct of the National Championships (including, but not limited to,
proposed venue, administration, operations, resources and profitability of the event).
2.2. Schedule of Rotation
2.2.1. A State/Territory may apply to act as a Co-Host for a National Championships in the
following schedule of rotation:

2021 Victoria New South Wales Australian Capital Territory
2022 Australian Capital Territory Western Australia Tasmania
2023 South Australia Victoria Queensland
2024 Northern Territory Australian Capital Territory New South Wales
2025 Tasmania South Australia Western Australia
