Financial AssistanceOVERVIEW

Government Student Loans

Student Line of Credit

Lifelong Learning Plan (LLP)

The maximum amount offered in Government Student Loans is around $13,300. First time AND repeat borrowers may be eligible for this yearly ceiling amount. The difference between first time and repeat borrowers relates to the portion of the $13,300 that can be realized in the form of grant.

Pixel Blue College has relationships with financial institutions which offer Student Lines of Credit to our students. Depending on the institution you can borrow between $7,500 and $10,000 to invest in your education at Pixel Blue College. Students are only required to pay the interest costs of the amount they borrow and, depending on the financial institution, you have 6 to 12 months after graduating to begin paying down the principle. The amount you pay per month depends on the total amount borrowed and the term you choose to pay down your line of credit.

The Federal Government’s Lifelong Learning Plan (LLP) allows you to withdraw up to $10,000 each year for qualified educational expenses. The maximum lifelong withdrawal allowed is $20,000. You are not required to include the withdrawn amount in your income, and tax is not withheld on the amount you withdraw. The total amount withdrawn must be repaid to your RSP over a period of no more than 10 years. Any amount not paid in that timeframe is included as income for the year it was due. As well, you are not required to pay any interest on the amount withdrawn.

THE PIXEL BLUE ADVANTAGE

TUITION

Pixel Blue College provides a creative environment where students are given the freedom to thrive and in-vent to their full potential. Our college brings a profes-sional studio atmosphere into the classroom to simu-late working in a real 2D Animation environment. In fact, students have 24-hour access to iMac computers and the most up-to-date tools.

Our philosophy is innovation. Using the latest software and hardware tools is just one of the ways Pixel Blue College is changing the face of education. This particular program offers the an abundance of lab time and a focus on Flash and AfterEffects Technologies.

2D.100 Software FundamentalsThere are many different software packages used in the industry to create 2D anima-tion focusing on the Adobe suite of programs, namely Adobe Flash and After Effects.

The tuition for the 2D Character Animation Diploma Program is $13,500 CAD. This covers the cost of 5 months in-class instruction, the use of a personal computer, all re-quired course materials**, including textbooks, and full access to our facilities 24-hours a day*.

The 2D Character Animation Program explores the world of animation and how the digital age has revolutionized the methods used for creating it. This intensive course will cover the popular programs used by today’s studios, and will deal heavily with the raw fundamentals of animation. Daily exercises that utilize the twelve principles of animation will strengthen students’ understanding of the physics and timing involved in creating professional characters and scenes. By immersing themselves into a completely practi-cal learning environment, students will be able to integrate themselves into an animation studio upon graduation, or will have the means to start their own studio and bring their own stories and ideas to life.

Test Driven Development Boot camp

DESCRIPTION

DESCRIPTION

The course focuses on the foundational skills needed to learn and function within the Pro Tools environment at a basic level. The goal of this course is to help individuals start working on their own projects in Pro Tools.

Although developers have been unit testing their code for years, it was typically per-formed after the code was designed and written. As a great number of developers can attest, writing tests after the fact is difficult to do and often gets omitted when time runs out. Test-driven development (TDD) attempts to resolve this problem and produce higher quality, well-tested code by putting the cart before the horse and writing the tests before we write the code.
