H HEAD COACHES HMIKE McCARTHY (126-79-2, 14th Year, 1st Year with Dallas)

The Dallas Cowboys named Mike McCarthy the ninth head coach in franchise history on Jan. 8, 2020, handing the reigns of the team to an innovative offensive mind with a championship pedigree. McCarthy comes to Dallas with 13 years of head coaching experi-ence and 13 additional years as an assistant coach in the NFL, includ-ing six as an offensive coordinator. As a head coach, McCarthy has racked up a 126-79-2 regular season coaching record, and he owns the sixth-most wins (29th all-time) and fifth-highest winning percentage (.614) among active NFL coaches. His teams have qualified for the postseason nine times, won six NFC North Division titles, made four NFC Championship Game appearances and took home a Super Bowl XLV championship held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, following the 2010 NFL season. Having mentored top quarterbacks, including Hall of Famers and future Hall of Famers, McCarthy’s experience and success with young quarterbacks will help shape the immediate future of the Dallas Cow-boys. Known as a prolific offensive mind - and the primary play-caller - McCarthy’s Packers offense finished fourth in the NFL in total offense and third in points-per-game in total through his tenure with the club. McCarthy is only the fourth head coach in NFL history to lead a sin-gle franchise to eight or more consecutive playoff appearances, join-ing Tom Landry, Noll and Bill Belichick. Those eight appearances from 2009-16 were more than the rest of the NFC North Division combined over that span (Minnesota, three; Detroit, three; Chicago, one). McCarthy’s nine playoff appearances overall are the most by a Packers coach since the NFL postseason began in 1933, and he guid-ed the Packers to a franchise-record fourth consecutive division title in 2014. With the victory over Dallas in the 2016 playoffs, McCarthy surpassed Lombardi and Holmgren for the most playoff victories in team history (10). McCarthy’s success began with dominance at home. Under Mc-Carthy at Lambeau Field, the Packers owned the fourth-best home winning percentage (73-27-2, .725) in the league from 2006 through Week 13 of 2018. Green Bay finished with a record of .500-or-better at home in 11 consecutive seasons under McCarthy.

KEVIN STEFANSKI (2-1, 1st Year) The Cleveland Browns named Kevin Stefanski the 18th head coach in franchise history on Jan. 13, 2020. In three games as a first-year coach, Stefanski has led the Browns to a 2-1 record, the first time Cleve-land has been above .500 since Dec. 7, 2014. Prior to arriving in Cleveland, Stefanski spent 14 years with the Minnesota Vikings, climbing the ranks from assistant coach to offen-sive coordinator. He joined the Vikings in 2006 as an assistant to the head coach and remained with Minnesota despite three head coaching changes. In his 13 years as a position coach, Stefanski coached ev-ery offensive position except the offensive line. In 2018 he coached the quarterbacks and was named the interim offensive coordinator for the final three games of the season before his promotion to the full-time play caller in 2019. In his only year as the primary offensive coordinator, the Vikings post-ed a 10-6 record and earned their first road playoff win since Jan. 9, 2005, after defeating New Orleans 26-20. Stefanski guided quarterback Kirk Cousins to a single-season career-high passer rating (107.4), which ranked fourth in the NFL. Cousins also threw a career-low six intercep-tions while setting a Vikings record for completions in a season (425) and finished with the second-most passing yards (4,298) in Vikings his-tory. Stefanski also helped Dalvin Cook develop into one of the best young running backs in the league during 2019. Cook rushed for 1,135 yards and became the eighth player in franchise history to rush for 1,000 yards in a single season. After his promotion to interim offensive coordinator in Week 15 of the 2018 season, he led the Minnesota Vikings offense to its best showing of the season. Minnesota scored a season-high 41 points and recorded 418 yards of offense in a 41-17 victory over Miami. In 2017 Stefanksi groomed Case Keenum into one of the most im-proved quarterbacks in the NFL. After Sam Bradford went down with an injury, Keenum completed nearly 68 percent of his passes with 22 touchdowns and only seven interceptions while leading Minnesota to an 11-3 record. Later that season, Stefanski and Keenum experienced the “Minneapolis Miracle”, when Keenum and receiver Stefon Diggs con-nected for a 61-yard touchdown on the final play of the game to knock off New Orleans in the divisional round of the playoffs. Before working in the NFL, Stefanski served as the assistant director of football operations at his alma mater, Pennsylvania.

H WHAT TO WATCH FOR IN WEEK 4 HDAK PRESCOTT

* Dak Prescott reached 100 touchdown passes at Seattle (9/27), becoming the third-fastest Cowboys quarterback to 100 passing touchdowns (67 starts), behind Tony Romo (53 starts) and Danny White (62 starts).

* Prescott owns the most 400-yard passing games in Cowboys history (six) after passing Tony Romo’s five at Seattle (472 yards, 9/27). Prescott is currently riding a two-game streak with 400 passing yards, tied for the second-longest streak in NFL history, behind only Ryan Fitzpatrick’s three-game streak in 2018.

* After topping 450 passing yards for the second-straight game, he is also tied with Jameis Winston (two games in 2019) for the longest-streak in NFL history.

* Prescott broke a string of 291 consecutive passes without an interception in the last game at Seattle. The streak spanned eight games and was the ninth-longest in NFL history - longest in Cowboys history (Troy Aikman, 216).

* With one rushing touchdown Prescott can become the third quarterback in NFL history with 25 rushing touchdowns in his first five seasons (Cam Newton, 43 and Daunte Culpepper, 26). * Leads the NFL with 1,188 passing yards and is tied for the lead with 18 completions of 20-plus yards.

44EZEKIEL ELLIOTT

* Ezekiel Elliott ranks eighth in the NFL in 2020 with 219 rushing yards and third with 122 yards after contact.

* His 1,777 scrimmage yards were the second-most in 2019, and his 14 total touchdowns were tied for fifth.

* Since 2016, Dak Prescott and Elliott have connected for the sixth-most touchdown hookups between a quarter- back/running back duo in the NFL with nine touchdowns. * Became the 11th Cowboys player to reach 50 touchdowns (rushing and receiving) in a career. He was the 26th player in NFL history to reach 50 touchdowns in his 60th game or earlier (third Cowboy - Emmitt Smith; 51 and Bob Hayes; 52). * Needs 169 scrimmage yards to reach 7,500 on his career and become the fourth player in NFL history to accumulate 7,500 scrimmage yards in the first 60 games of a career (Le’Veon Bell, Eric Dickerson and Edgerrin James).

2121AMARI COOPER

* Amari Cooper has 25 catches (third) for 267 yards (eighth) to lead the Cowboys in 2020.

* Cooper’s 25 catches through the first three games of 2020 are the most by any Cowboys receiver through the first three games of a season. With seven catches against Cleveland, he would establish the most receptions by a Cowboys player through the first four games of a season (Miles Austin, 31 catches in 2010).

* Cooper has scored 14 touchdowns since he joined the Cowboys (Week 9 of 2018), with seven of those 14 coming from 20-plus yards. He ranks second in the NFL behind only Tyreek Hill (10) in 20-plus yard touchdowns in that time.

1919

ALDON SMITH * Aldon Smith leads the NFL in sacks with 4.0 and ranks fourth on the Cowboys with 21 tackles.

* With 3.0 sacks at Seattle, he passed 50.0 career sacks (now at 51.5) in his 62nd career game and became one- of-seven players all-time to reach 50 sacks in their 62nd game-or-earlier (Reggie White, Derrick Thomas, Von Miller, Justin Houston, J.J. Watt and Dwight Freeney).5858

JAYLON SMITH * Jaylon Smith leads the Cowboys defense in tackles (32) and deflections (two) and is second in tackles for loss (one).

* Smith led the team with 168 tackles and was named to his first career Pro Bowl as an injury replacement in 2019.

* The Cowboys were very efficient when they blitzed opposing quarterbacks in 2019, recording a sack on 11.6% or blitz attempts - the fourth-best sack percentage on blitz passing situations.

5454

CeeDee LAMB * CeeDee Lamb caught five passes for 59 yards in his NFL debut at the LA Rams, which are the fourth-most receiving yards by a Cowboys rookie wide receiver in a season-opening game.

* Lamb caught six passes for 106 yards in Week 2 against the Falcons, becoming the 12th Cowboys rookie - 16th time - to post a 100-yard game. Lamb tied Cornell Burbage as the fastest Cowboys rookie receiver to record his 100-yard performance. * Lamb leads all rookies in receptions (16) and ranks second in receiving yards (230) and yards after the catch (96).

H 2020 DRAFT CLASS H The Cowboys were looking to improve several areas of their roster heading into the NFL Draft under first-year Head Coach Mike McCar-thy, and they came away with seven players that impressed through-out training camp - so much so, that all seven draft picks made the initial 53-man roster for Week 1. It is the first time since 2013 that the Cowboys had their entire draft class make the initial 53-man roster following training camp, seventh in the last 21 seasons and the eighth since the 1989 season under Jerry Jones’ guidance.
