Component Description
BACKGROUND The World Trade Organization (WTO) is the only global international
organization dealing with the rules of trade between nations. At its heart
are the WTO agreements, negotiated and signed by the bulk of the
world’s trading nations and ratified in their parliaments. Its goal is to
help producers of goods and services, exporters, and importers conduct
their business. India being one of the member countries of WTO has
experienced both benefits and adverse effects because of various
agreements and clauses. The benefits have to be enhanced and
disadvantages need to be mitigated. This calls for a detailed
understandingof the working, agreements, clauses of WTO on the
economy. Hence, a training module for three day training programme
on WTO has been prepared.
