TABA needs your help with various committees Many of you may not know that beyond staff, the Tyler Area Builders Association is supported by numerous vol-unteers on our committees that are responsible for coor-dinating social events, month-ly financial reviews, public relations planning, two of our biggest fundraisers - Home Products Show and Parade of Homes™, education planning and many other behind the scenes projects.

We need you!

It is important that we have participation from our mem-bers to help guide the Tyler Area Builders Association into a positive direction for future growth.

It’s simple to participate; just choose whichever com-mittee interests you and make plans to attend each month. You don’t have to make all the meetings; we understand you are busy! But your con-tribution of 1 hour a month makes a large impact on our Association’s planning and growth. Once you sign up for a committee we will set you

up to receive a reminder email the day before and a reminder call the day of the meeting.

Tyler Area Builders Association Committees and Meeting Times:

Budget & Finance - Meets the last Monday of every month at 4 p.m.

Education - Meets the second Wednesday of each month at 4 p.m.

Membership - Meets the Thursday prior to each Board meeting at 1 p.m.

Government Relations - Meets quarterly on the second Tuesday of that month at 2 p.m.

2 Welcome

This year is moving right along and I appreciate everyone’s hard work and participa-tion. Your contribution of time and talent is the reason for our success. All of the committees have been working hard to make this a great year and attendance at our events is proof of that. The General Membership meeting last month at Cascades was well attended and what a great kick off for our 2012 Mem-bership Drive. The Drive is coming up on May 15 and 22, and Ed Kopal and his Com-mittee have put in many hours to make this drive successful. Remember, membership in TABA has many benefits and it is important that we help grow our membership and support our home building industry. Again, I just want to thank all builders and associates for their hard work and participa-tion. This would not be the suc-cessful association it is without each of you! Thank you!

Get ready for your role in the Membership Drive this May The Spring General Membership Meeting was March 21 at the Cascades. This event was an exciting kick off for our Membership Drive in May. Membership Chairman Ed Kopal updated attendees at the General Membership Meeting on the outreach TABA is making to all counties represented in our area. A successful meeting with Wood County members and potential recruitment in their area lead to the planning of the February meeting in Henderson County with members in their area. Other counties will have their turn at organizing their committee groups and working

on potential members in the upcoming months. Tracking top recruits is a priority and there is a new Leadership Board displayed in TABA’s board room. The board shows monthly

progress in the number of recruits for each Spike. This in fo rmat ion will be very important with

the return of an “old” TABA tradition the Mother of All Parties. Along with this exciting announcement the Committee is planning a complete package of Spike rewards. The Membership Drive is in May, and we want you to play an important role.
