Everyone from technical experts to the most senior corporate executives attends, and turnout regularly tops 1,000. Each product line, including a newly created artificial lift unit, was responsible for two twenty-minute seminars in addition to a separate executive presentation. Most of the focus was understandably given to the executive presentation, leaving the seminar presenters to fend for themselves using any available resource. Unfortunately, the client had no internal resources from which to draw, leaving engineers floundering for ways to produce high-quality presentations that would best promote their product lines. With the everyday pressures of the oil and gas industry, these presentations often got pushed to the back burner. The internal marketing department was unable to fulfill every request, leaving the work, when addressed, to be created by high-salaried engineers for whom creating stunning presentations was not their forte. In short, TarrenPoint worked as a seamless, invisible extension of the client’s marketing department. C A S E S T U D YThroughout the accelerated, six-week timeframe, TarrenPoint worked on fifteen presentations. Some source material, like the content from artificial lift, was a basic sequence that told the story the product line wanted to convey, and TarrenPoint’s graphic designers used their creativity to bring to life the essential message. Other projects merely needed TarrenPoint’s editors to conduct a substantive review to ensure quality and consistency. The large majority of the projects, however, were complete turnkey presentations where TarrenPoint team leaders obtained the content in raw form—either from source files or SME interviews—and developed storyboards, graphical sequences, and animations to produce high quality presentations that communicated the product line’s place within the overall corporate hierarchy.

The presentations were a huge success at the event, receiving extremely positive feedback. The artificial lift presentations, for example, prompted substantive questions from the audience and secured the product line’s place within the company.
