I WANNA KNOW! What was your favorite about this summer?

LTG UPDATE

Hello Division 39S! I hope you all have had a great July! I know I did. After being busy all summer, it’s nice to finally be able to wind down a little and relax (even though I haven’t yet read my summer reading for English class.) At the moment I am currently in Vancouver exploring the vast lands of Canada, and it’s pretty great. I have yet to try Canadian Bacon though, so that is my next goal. This past weekend I attended the Summer Board Meeting with my fellow LTG’s and our District Staff, and I must tell you, it was an extremely fun experience. We have a lot of great things planned for the year and I encourage you all to go to Key Leader this year! (more info to come on that) We also decided on the DCON 2015 theme which I cannot wait to tell you all about! But I will let the suspense build for some time. With school starting really soon, please let me know if you need help with membership recruitment or if you have any meetings coming up! Yours in service, Andrew Loh Texas-Oklahoma District Key Club 2014-2015 Lieutenant Governor Region 7, Division 39S Call/Text: 682-551-6461

WINDING DOWN

As summer comes to a close and the school year is approaching us quickly, here are a few tips on how to begin your school year successfully and smoothly. • Have a membership recruitment booth at schedule pick-up!

Parents will always want to make their children more involved – target them!

• Advertise your club with flyers and posters! Paint signs and

print off ads to show off Key Club in your school! Make sure the signs are appealing and easy to read.

• Meet with your school principal and have an outline. A good impression on your principal can really help you out – make sure you have a clear calendar laying out major events you plan on having throughout the year and schedule a meeting to go through it!

• HAVE BOARD MEETINGS! Meeting as a board is the most essential thing to do because the success of your club relies upon the board. Make sure that everyone has an equal voice and to write all ideas down to be more organized!

WINDING DOWN

• Create agendas for ALL meetings. Having agendas lays out what is to come and it helps keep track of where you are in your meetings. Not only does it keep you organized, it also lets your members know that you mean business.

• Contact your local businesses, churches, and elementary schools. Reaching out and letting them know that you’re interested in volunteering for them makes them more likely to notify you in the future for future events!

• Attend Kiwanis Meetings. Let your Kiwanis Clubs know that you’re willing to help them out with anything they may need assistance with. The more often you attend their meetings, the more likely they are to help you when you need it.
