MASS INTENTIONS Each year on this Sunday we reflect on the image of Jesus as the Good Shepherd, devotedly taking care of his flock. The priest in charge of a par-ish is called a “pastor” because pastor means shepherd, and he shepherds Christ’s sheep. As a shepherd, he leads, feeds, nurtures, comforts, corrects, and protects Christ’s sheep in the parish. The earliest Christians saw Jesus as the fulfillment of the ancient Jewish dream of a good shepherd. They also wished to include the Gentiles as part of God’s flock.

St. Vincent DePaul Society Bundle Weekend May 2nd & 3rd

Spring cleaning is on the horizon. Donations of slightly used clothing, shoes, small housewares and appliances can be dropped off in the truck that will be parked at the back of the church parking lot. Please be mindful to place the items inside and to the back of the truck. NO ELECTRONICS OR FURNITURE WILL BE ACCEPTED. The truck will be open until the last mass of the day. The Easter Donation Box will remain at the entrance of the church until the weekend of May 24, 2015. Thank you for your continuous generosi-ty.

Gala Dinner In Support of Vocations

In our Diocese we have two semi-naries preparing young people for the priesthood. One of them is Redemptoris Mater Missionary Seminary, where our own Fr Bartek was formed and or-dained. This seminary organizes a fund rais-ing dinner once a year, and it will take place on Friday, May 1st. If you want to support the vocations and enjoy a great dinner and night out, please contact Fr Bartek.

Confirmation Age has Changed Please note that as of this year, the age of con-firmation has changed to correspond to the age of those in Grade 7 (seven). The Archdio-cese has made this change official and we

invite parents with children in this grade to stay tuned with parish announcements (bulletin) regarding procedures for this coming year. It is important to know that for 2016 we will have both grade 8 and grade 7 celebrating confirmation dur ing the same year. We are awaiting instruc-tions from the Archdioceses regarding how to proceed this year and how Confirma-tions are to be planned given that we will have double the number only this year. Parents should be contacting the Church

office for any questions, not the school or the teachers, and be sure to get first hand information. The schools will only refer you to us in order to discuss any sacra-ments for your children.

Celebrating Catholic Education:

‘Exploring Paths of Joy’ “Were not our hearts burning within us while He was talking to us on the road?” Luke 24-32. Catholic Educa-tion Week 2015 begins on Sunday, May 3. The Catholic schools in our parish St. Jude, St. Simon and St. Basil will engage in a series of events to celebrate the ongoing gift of pub-licly-funded Catholic education. You are invited to discover what celebra-tions are happening in your children’s school and if possible, attend. Public-ly-funded Catholic education has ex-isted in Ontario since 1841 and its graduates have served Ontario and Canada very well. The current gener-ation of students in our publicly-funded Catholic schools will serve with the same spirit and generosity as their previous generations. Thank you for your prayers and support for Catholic Education.

ShareLife This year, Catholics across our archdio-cese are being asked to support the Fam-ily of Faith campaign. This campaign

will provide for the pastoral and tem-poral needs of the archdiocese, such as campus and youth ministry, communica-tion initiatives that will strengthen our family of faith, and support to help new parishes to celebrate Mass in a new church. the ShareLife campaign pro-vides for the needs of our social service agencies, helps our brothers and sisters in Christ across the world, and supports the education of our clergy. There is no duplication – ShareLife agencies do not receive funding from the Family of Faith campaign. Thus it is important that we continue to support the ShareLife appeal, to provide for the needs of the marginal-ized both here in our communities and around the world. Next Sunday is Share-Life Sunday – May 3, 2015 Please give generously. You can work wonders!

Volunteers Needed!

The music ministry is looking for volunteers for the 9:30am or the 11:00am mass. The commitment is small and the reward is great! Rehearsals are only one night a week. If you are in-terested please call the office or leave your name and contact number with any member of the choir before or after mass. Thank you for your support!

First Communion: Rehearsals

The Rehearsal dates and times have been changed. The new schedule has been sent via e-mail.

Confirmation: Rehearsals

Saturday, May 16, 2015 Group One: 1:00pm

Group Two: 3:00pm in the Church.

Baptism Class and Orientation During the months on July and August, 2105 Baptism Orientation and Baptism Classes will not be available. We ask par-ents who are planning to request a baptism to keep in mind that once classes and ori-entations stop during the summer, the pro-cess cannot start until September. This does not mean that there are no baptisms in July and August, but only those who prepare ahead of time can choose any of these two months as baptism’s dates. Please contact the par-ish office for more information.

Questions for Reflection:

What gifts have you received as a child of God?

How can you help bring God’s saving grace to the world to your neighborhood?

For whom will you lay down your life?
