  • D IET Polar Bears main diet is the ringed seal. They wait for the seal to pop up its head to catch its breath, and then the polar bear snatches it. They are carnivorous animals. They locate the breathing holes by using their powerful sense of smell. Polar Bears have to be smart and patient if they want food.

Polar Bears fur consists of a dense, insulating undercoat topped by guard hairs of various lengths. Their fur is not white, it might seem that way though !

  • C UBS Mama bears give birth to about 2-3 cubs at a time. When cubs are born, they cannot see anything and cannot hear. After a month they can see, hear, and walk. They only weigh 1 pound !! They are 12-14 inches long but, they grow very fast. The moms stay close to their babies for 20 months. During that time, they learn their skills.
