Did You Know? Psalm 24 is used as the responsorial psalm for today’s Feast of the Presentation of the Lord. “Lift up, O gates, your lintels; reach up, you ancient portals, that the king of glory may come in! Who is this king of glory? The Lord, strong and mighty, the Lord, mighty in battle. The Lord of hosts; he is the king of glory.” This song was sung by pilgrims as they reached the Temple. Standing outside, they called on the gates to lift up. From inside the Temple, voices sang back a question of faith: “Who is the king of glory?” The answer, given in faith, allows access to the Temple. (www.npm.org)

Immaculee to Return to Prayer Day The 36th Annual Prayer Day at the University of Mary will be held Thursday, February 6, 2014. Returning this year as the keynote speaker is Immaculee Ilibagiza. Immaculée is a living example of faith put into action. Her life was transformed dra-matically during the 1994 Rwandan genocide where she and seven other women spent 91 days huddled silently together in the cramped bathroom of a local pastor's house. In the years since, Immaculee has travelled the world sharing the story of Faith, Hope, and Forgiveness. In 2007 she received the Ma-hatma Gandhi Reconciliation and Peace Award, and in 2008 she was the keynote for Prayer Day at U of Mary. Immaculee will speak at 11am on her “Story of Faith, Hope, and Forgive-ness” and again at 1pm on “Our Lady of Kibeho”. The day con-cludes with Eucharistic Liturgy at 2:15pm, with Bishop David Kagan presiding. Please register online at http://www.umary.edu/prayerday or by calling Ed Konieczka at 701-355-8102. The cost for the day, including lunch, is $10.00.
