Coffee Fellowship
Come and join us for fel-lowship and coffee before church each Sunday. Cof-fee is ready by 8:15 am. Take time to get reacquainted with the church family.
In 2013, Cordova (Church and community) not only welcomed Karen and I, but made us feel as one of it’s own. You became more than our parish and friends, you became our family. During the past six years, we have been blessed. We have worked to-gether to bring the power, love, light, and life of Christ to Cordova and the
surrounding area. You have been patient with me in trying new, and sometimes “wild,” methods and ministries to educate our congregation and minister to our neighbors. In working together, people definitely knew we were here in Cordova and that we love our God. Despite being close, time and God changes things. I have struggled for some time be-tween what I came to believe God was telling me and my love and devotion for you. God has been calling me to follow Him and shepherd others. I long to stay with my family. However, if I am to be a servant of God, I must obey His leading. My desires may be good, but they are not always best. God knows what is best for you, and what is best for me. To this realization, I have come to submit. Therefore, I began to search for more details from God about where He wants me to go. During the month of October, God revealed my next step in this life of ministry. I have been called and have accepted the position of pastor at First Baptist of Horton, KS. While the position has been accepted, I did not want to leave my family in a lurch during the Advent and Christmas season. Therefore, we will be celebrating the birth of our Savior with you. Karen and my last service with you will be on Sunday, December 29th. We will begin the new year in Kansas. In the next two months, I want to help you in any way possible for the upcoming transi-tion in getting an interim minister and pulling together a Search Committee to locate your next shepherd. I desire for you to see this as a good thing. Yes, two people you love and who love you are moving, but God is still here. He loves you even more than I do. He has something wonder-ful in store for you. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jer. 29:11). Rejoice in God’s love and presence in your life. You will always be family to us. May the Lord bless you in the ventures yet to come.
