IntroductionThe American School of Protocol® a division of Personal Best, Inc.® (hereinafter referred to as ASP) offers state of the art training and current teaching materials for student training and is staffed with qualified, approved instructors.

ASP agrees to present a complete and comprehensive program, which will provide student’s with ample background, training and materials to launch and conduct a etiquette training school in their area.

The School is owned by Peggy Newfield.

5-Day Children’s Etiquette Certification

This Certification Program will prepare you to teach etiquette and life skills for 1st through 12th grades and college level students. Dining Skills, Basic Etiquette Skills, Phone Skills, Conversation Skills, Communication Skills, Correspondence, Safety skills, Life Skills, Appearance and Sports Conduct are included. The Certification also concentrates on Starting a Business, Business Strategies and Marketing.

The Following is Included:

3-Day Children’s Etiquette Certification, Friday through Sunday

Friday 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (1 1/2 hour break) ^6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

Saturday 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Sunday 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

When an unexpected closure occurs due to extraordinary conditions such as inclement weather, students will be notified as soon as possible by phone / email. If a class is cancelled, participants will be moved to the next upcoming class.

EnrollmentProspective students may enroll for a future class at anytime. Enrollment must be made one week prior to training (date of class) if space is available.

Entrance RequirementsASP does not discriminate based on race, sex, religion, ethnic origin, or disability. ASP accepts any individual over the age of 18 who possesses the desire to make a positive difference in the lives of children/adults and contribute to their community. Prospective students must submit an enrollment form, signed contract, questionnaire, marketing plan survey and a deposit of $2,500.

Grading SystemCertificate Programs:

90 – 100 = A Excellent

80 – 89 = B Above Average

70 – 79 = C Average

60 – 69 = D Below Average

Under 60 = U Unsatisfactory

A final exam that is administered on the last day of the course will be graded according to the scale above.

Tuit ion Payment PolicyThe student agrees to pay ASP a training fee of USD $5,495.00 (includes $100 nonrefundable application fee). A deposit of $2,500.00 with an enrollment form, signed contract, questionnaire and marketing plan survey will guarantee a place in the program being held (date of class) if space is available.

If space is unavailable after deposit has been made, then a full refund will be made to the applicant. The full balance is due four weeks prior to the training date. If student enrolls one week prior to training, then full tuition payment is due upon enrollment. Students acknowledge receipt of training agreement and agrees to all tuition payment obligations. Failure to complete payment will result in the cancellation of enrollment.

Refund PolicyIf space is unavailable after deposit has been made, then a full refund will be made to the applicant. If student fails to complete payment this will result in the cancellation of enrollment. All money will be refunded except for the $100 nonrefundable application fee. Returned checks are subject to a $50.00 (U.S.) handling fee.

Prior to two (2) months before seminar date, if student is paid in full and must cancel, the total payment received is refundable, less a $100 nonrefundable application fee.

If student is paid in full and cancels within 3 business days of signing the contract, 100% of the tuition is refundable if requested. Additionally, 95% of the tuition is refundable if the withdrawal occurs any time after the 3 business days after signing the contract and before class actually begins. In the event a third party paid your tuition, any refund due will be issued to that third party.

All refunds due will be made within thirty (30) calendar days of the first scheduled day of class or the date of cancellation, whichever is earlier. If a student withdraws before the midday point of day 1, he/she is entitled to a 90% refund. If a student withdraws before the midday point of day 2 (approximately 1.5 days of instruction), he/she is entitled to a 75% refund.

If a student withdraws before the midday point of day 3 (approximately 2.5 days of instruction), he/she is entitled to a 50% refund. Beyond that point, no refund is given. If ASP cancels a program subsequent to a student’s enrollment, the institution will refund all monies paid by the student.

Cancellation PolicyFailure to complete payment will result in the cancellation of enrollment.

ASP will accept cancellation requests only in writing or through email. A refund will be issued in accordance with the Refund Policy denoted above.

If a demonstrated personal emergency interferes with your course of study, you can postpone your enrollment once, for up to one year from your initial course start date, at the discretion of the President. Please contact the school staff for further details.

Conduct PolicyAll students are expected to act maturely and are required to respect other students and faculty members. Possession of weapons, illegal drugs, and alcohol of any kind are not allowed at any time.

Grievance ProcedureAll grievances are referred to Peggy Newfield, Founder and President. All students are aware of this procedure and are assured that any grievance will be heard and handled fairly and quickly.

Complaints may be filed within 60 days of receiving training. All complaints are answered within 48 hours and taken seriously. Peggy Newfield makes the final decision regarding complaints, and will personally handle each situation.

Unsatisfied students have the right to appeal to Georgia Nonpublic Postsecondary Education Commission. To appeal, visit www.gnpec.org/consumer-resources and submit your complaint through an online submission form.

Attendance RequirementsStudents are expected to arrive on time for class with proper materials. An overall attendance rate of at least 85% is required. Students who are unable to continue classes for medical reasons or severe personal problems will be required to take a leave of absence until they are able to return to class.

Placement AssistanceThe school does not provide placement services. Graduates return to their hometowns to start their own etiquette consulting/education businesses. However, our president, Peggy Newfield, is available for support and coaching should any graduate decide to contact her.

Certif icateA Certificate of Completion of the school training will be presented to each student during final session of training. Upon transfer of the certificate of completion, student will have permission to cite their status as school trained and certified on all marketing materials and will have permission to use school “certified” logo on launch marketing materials.

Limitations of Use of Training MaterialsAll materials received during the certification training program are owned by ASP and are protected by U.S. copyright laws. The copyrighting process makes it illegal to copy, distribute, display or take credit for all or part of the school materials without full consent from the school.

The training manual and materials received during training are expressly for the student’s individual use and portions may only be duplicated to hand out in classes. Handout materials that have been designed for duplication must have the ASP name and copyright date printed at the bottom of each page being duplicated. At no point shall the materials be duplicated in order to instruct other individuals on becoming an etiquette consultant. Except for the marketing sample section of materials which is expressly for promoting each student’s etiquette training courses, ASP training materials shall not be adapted, printed, published, reproduced, duplicated, distributed, transmitted, transferred, or stored in any electronic form without the prior and explicit written permission from ASP.

Student shall not use school training materials in or as the basis of film, video, television or radio program, audiocassette, article, story, card, pamphlet, book, or any written published or unpublished work.

Photographs that are taken by ASP during the training are for the express use of the student, however must be acknowledged as Courtesy of The American School of Protocol® to be used in print, electronically or in any published form.
