Entering Data Into a List

1. Press STAT then ENTER2. Type in your data and press ENTER after each

one– To clear an entire list, – highlight the name of the list (ex. L1) then hit

CLEAR then ENTER– Do NOT hit DELETE!

• Always double check that your information is accurate!

Setting a Window

1. Press WINDOW– X-min: make this value a little smaller than your

smallest x value– X-max: make this value a little bigger than your

biggest x value– Xscl: this is what you count by on the x-axis• For a histogram, it tells how wide the bars will be• Try to use nice numbers like 1, 2, 5, 10, 25 or numbers

ending in zero

Setting a Window

– Y-min: make this a little smaller than your smallest y value• For histograms, this should always be -3 since you don’t

have any y-values!

– Y-max: make this a little bigger than your biggest y value• For histograms, this value is usually between 5 and 20;

you need it to be high enough to see the tallest bar

– Yscl: 1

Making a Histogram on the Calculator

1. Enter data into a list2. Hit 2ND Y= then hit ENTER on Plot 13. Highlight “On” and hit ENTER4. Go down to Type then over to

the third choice and hit ENTER5. Go down to the list and tell the calculator

where the information is (Ex. L1)6. Set your Window7. Hit GRAPH
