AN EARTHLY STORY WITH A HEAVENLY MEANING. By the REV. CHARLES BULLOCK, B.D., formerly Rector of St. Nicholas, Worcester;

Editor of "Home Words," Author of "The Crown of the Road,'' etc. With IllustrAtions designed by S. C. P&NNEFATHER.

"God came to me as TMLth,-I saw Him not i He came to me as L<rve,-and my heart broJ<e, And from its inmost deptJ:ts there eame a. cry,'M.r Father! oh, my Father! smile on me'; And the Great Father smiled."-ANON,

" In the Parable of the Prodigal Son, the endearing relations of earthly affection are employed as images, to exhibit, In the most attractive form, the fundamental principles of Goepel. Truth. The streams of human love, as they meander through the dearest relatiollB o[ life, mirror the deep things of God. The GosPEL is in the Parable."-TM Prefact.

THE OLD GOSPEL EVER NEW ttbe Storl] of 'Raaman; or, Stn anb its <ture.

"'The Old Gospel is Ever New.' The Gospel, in its e8l'lllntisl simplicity, is "" truly the utterance of what may be termed thO 'historic Parable' of Naaman·a Story in the Old Testament as it is the utterance of the Divine Teacher's inimitable parable of 'The Prodigal Son' in the New Testament. 'The Way Home' of the sinner to God Is the lesson of both parables. Hence the writer's a.im ha.s slm~ly been to produce a companion volume to his former book, • The Way Home,' which he trusts, by Gods blessing, may help to fasten the minds of anxious and inquiring readers on the aame esaendal. verities of Goepel truth, which a.re oortainly 1""" prominently dwelt upon than they used to b&."-:l'M Preface.

* • • The two volumes, which have alrea.dy paosed through many editions, were originally issued at the price of as. 6d. They are now, in an illu•trated and more attractive form, sold for On< Shilling antt 8i:J:· -; furnishing an example of the pooribl• cheapness of books, if they can be printed in numb<rs corre· spending with the circulation of our popul<>r Magazines. The publisher will be gled to forwa.rd SpiJoi,..,. Copy, free by post, to any addresa, on receipt of twelve stampe for each.
