Three North East Universities have secured ERDF funding to support SMEs in the region to recruit graduates. This includes a free recruitment service, university links, and a grant payment towards the costs of between £540 - £833 per month.

Performance to date...Across the region we have funded and supported 177 companies to recruit graduates, of which 40 fall within the SEMTA footprint.
We have a regional retention rate into longer-term employment of between 80-90%.
Across the region we have the capacity to support a further 295 businesses directly through ERDF funding until 2014
