What are the challenges?
• As an MT provider for decades, SYSTRAN is used to build LR for
ourselves and our customers. Some of the issues we face:
– Customers don’t have enough data to share (due to scarcity,
fragmentation, legal and confidentiality problems …)
– Lack of data on some rare languages or dialects
– Time and resources to build required LR
– Having the customer engaged in the process (approval step)

human-translated patents and not to the EU members?
• Costs ? Who pays? Data maintenance?
• Competition with services providers, editors?
