Digital Video Distribution

SystemsDigital video has proven to be a for-midable challenge to even the most seasoned integrators. At NeoPro, we understand the challenges, and have created the industry’s best solution with the HDMI switching and Long run HDMI over fiber.Digital video is more susceptible to problems with long runs to zones, im-proper power wiring, and outside in-terference.In addition to solving all of these prob-lems with a single strand of low cost fi-ber, we’ve given the integrator all the serial and IR control features they need in the automated home.

specification, including all required 3D formats, Deep Color (12 bits) at up to 1080p resolution. Color Gamut Metadata is supported to allow the use of xvYCC color spaces (HDMI 1.3 x.v.Color).Using the Vandenberg’s flexible audio routing system, both two channel audio and SPDIF/Toslink multichannel audio can be routed from the source device. This allows you to deliver audio to both the display speakers as well as a multi-channel amp. All digital audio inputs are routed independent, effectively giving 16 audio inputs in addition to the 8 HDMI

The Vandenberg is a true 8 x 8 HDMI matrix, offer-ing the end user a perfect video viewing experience with glitch free switching, zero delays from HDCP authentication, and flexible audio routing. As a true HDMI/HDCP repeater, the Van-denberg resolves situations of single HDCP key sources, and output blanking when switching other zones. The HDMI inputs and outputs support the video features found in the HDMI 1.4

audio signals. These can then be routed to any of the 8 HDMI outputs and the 4 SPDIF outputs on the rear panel. For convienience of integration, the Van-denberg includes IR, RS-232 and TCP/IP for controlling the matrix. A web interface is also included for setup and administra-tion.

• RS232 serial (bidirectional)- allows remote control of any display that has an RS232 control port. Great for power on/off control of projectors and flat panels.

• Bidirectional IR - Use the LightSpider as both a forward IR path to control the display device, or to capture IR com-mands in the zone and bring them back to the source equipment.

• Auxiliary analog audio - use for local amp with in-wall speakers, or support audio to the display when audio over HDMI is not available.

The LightSpider is an innovative fiber op-tic point to point bridge for long distance transport of HDMI, audio, RS232 serial data, and infrared signals. It can carry this set of signals up to 1,000 feet (305 meters) over a single strand of low cost multimode fiber cable.

The LightSpider is able to communicate all of these signals over a single strand of either 62.5/125 micron or 50/125 micron multimode fiber cable. No additional Cat5 or additional fibers are required to achieve full HD with HDCP encryption and EDID communications.• Go up to 1,000 feet without any con-

cern of signal degradation, HDCP dropouts and errors, or video ‘sparkles’.

• Up to 1080p 60Hz at max length - no derating of video capabilities as your cable gets longer.

• Full EDID communications - EDID dis-play information is carried all the way through the system, so no need to ‘copy’ EDID or worry about it getting erased.

Sports Bar&

Restaurant Systems

Sports bar and restaurant video systems are an expanding market in the com-mercial integration segment. Franchise chains bring the opportunity for multiple installs and steady work for the integra-tor.NeoPro has designed flexible systems that allows the growth in small incre-ments, rather than a forklift upgrade when the owner decides to add more TVs than the original system design can handle. The integrator can even mix and match system types with both coax and Cat5 versions available.

tahoeThe Tahoe is a flexible video distribution system designed specifically for bar, restaurant, and retail applications. Typi-cally these systems will have a large number of wall mount-ed displays providing the viewer with several programs to watch in each seating area or zone. Operation of the matrix is usually handled by the control system’s user interface, but as a ‘just in case’ feature, the Tahoe features full control of the system from the front panel, including direct in/out switching entry, sequencing through inputs, and recalling any one of sixteen memory presets.Having a sports bar system go down is about as bad as running out of drinks, so we’ve designed the Tahoe for reliability. With dual hot-swappable power supplies, in case of failure, the system will continue operating on one supply. The front panel and control system will alert the staff, and a replacement can be installed without any downtime.

Up to 12 Hawthornes can be stacked to create a full non-blocking 12x96 matrix. At the end points, convert from Cat5 back to RCA connections with the Hornet receiver, available as both an in wall or surface mount version.

No wall warts are ever needed since the Hawthorne sends power to the Hornet receivers (as do all of our Cat5 matrix switches).

The Quincy+ is the audio equivalent of the Hawthorne, with 12 inputs of digital and ana-log audio, plus volume and tone control. Stacking Quincys can build up to a 12x96 audio distribution system.• 12 inputs Component video (Haw-

CAT5 ReceiversCat5 receivers (sometimes refered to as ‘baluns’) convert the audio and video signal from any of our Cat5 based matrix switches back to RCA connector based video and audio. None of our Cat5 receivers require any power at the display. All power comes from the matrix switch.

Available as an in-wall single gang decora style module or as a surface mount metal chassis. The Hornet is a dual convertor with two Cat5 inputs. One half converts the video Cat5, and the other half converts the audio Cat5. In some cases these two Cat5s will be coming from the same switch, but for our 8x16 and larger units, one Cat5 cable will come from each switch. The Hornet uses NeoPro’s patented Auto-EQ technology for quick and easy installations. There are no EQ or gain settings to mess with - the Hornet (and Falcon) will sense the cable length and self adjust.
