2. HOHFI (Iraq)PCI MissionsSyrian Refugees ood into Northern IraqIt's estimated that there are now over 240,000 Syrian Refugees who have fled their country for fear of their lives. 3. Jack Harris - HOHFIDomiz CampSyrian Refugee Crisis in Kurdistan of iraq 4. Domiz Camp The camps have sprung up like small cities in several different areas of northern Iraq. One such camp is located near the Iraqi city of Domiz (Doh-meez). Although Domiz is just outside the Kurdish region, the KRG (Kurdish Regional Government) has administrative authority over it. 5. Inadequate Shelter Shelter here consists of mostly of tents and piecemeal homemade tent-like structures of metal framework covered with plastic or corrugated metal sheeting for those who can afford it. It's a miserable life for these unfortunate people who have been forced to flee their homes. 6. HOHFI (Iraq)A Human Tragedy This family told me that their three story home was hit by a government forces bomb and destroyed. They owned several cars which they had to sell to flee the country just to survive and escape to this meager existence. 7. Failing Camp Infrastructure Toilet facilities here are outhouses; some of which have ceased to function from over use which reveals a major problem; that of deteriorating infrastructure. I spoke with one official who told me that the infrastructure of the camp is rapidly deteriorating because of the overwhelming influx of people. There simply aren't the funds to keep up. 8. Dust, Grey Water, Mud Domiz is hot and dusty in the summer, a mud hole during the Spring rains, and now the winter cold is coming with more rain. Add to this the open grey water and sewage running in shallow ditches next to the dirt roads and you have a perfect recipe for human misery. The official I spoke with feels the urgency of this impending situation and was eager to receive any help we could render. I will meet with them again this next week to see where we can best assist. 9. The Children Thousands of the Syrian conflict's victims are children. Uprooted and displaced from their homes, friends, school and for some the loss of family. Some of the camps lack schools and clinics. This is where we come in. We can help with low cost facilities and help solve some of the camps infrastructure problems. 10. Hands Of Hope Foundation InternationalWe Are HOHFI (Iraq) WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT NOW!
