Objectives
Synthesis of hollow silica mesoporous nanoparticles with small size
(~200nm) and large pore size (10-12nm)
Reasons:
1. Increase carrying capacity of each nanoparticle
2. Increase local concentration for enzyme activity
-
Workflow Glucose dissolved
in water to
concentration of
0.5M
Hydrothermal
treatment:
Incubated at 1700
for 9 hours,
centrifuged, and
dried overnight
Carbon spheres
mixed with
ethanol, ammonia,
water, TEOS and
tannic acid for 8
hours, centrifuged
and dried
Calcinated at
5500 for 5 hours Characterised
using SEM and
FTIR
