1 Introduction

Symphony offers a business intelligence (BI) module. This document describes how you can obtain various Analytics for Symphony which utilizes the Microsoft Power BI (business intelligence) product.

Symphony Analytics provide you with robust reporting tools to understand how your business utilizes the Symphony platform enabling you to make better business decisions. A basic walk-through explains the key features for Symphony Analytics (Dashboards).

2 Analytics - Dashboards (Business Intelligence) Overview

Symphony provides interactive Analytic Dashboards. The dashboards provide robust customizable reporting options to users in real-time to display key performance indicators and key data points for monitoring Symphony health. You can export specific results to .csv (comma separated value) or and Excel spreadsheet format.

Analytic dashboards and tabular (table) Report data comprise Symphony reports. The dashboard display is based on your account selection(s) within Symphony when you are managing more than your own account, (i.e., the Filtered Accounts selected).

2.1 All Dashboards - Samples and Descriptions

2.1.1 Savings Analytics Dashboard

This dashboard allows you to analyze savings (Travel Distance, Carbon Saved and Money Saved) when utilizing Video Conference Meetings instead of traveling.

This dashboard allows you to analyze meetings managed by Symphony. The dashboard shows a heat map in the lower right widget entitled Per Hour (UTC).

2.1.5 Issues Analytics Dashboard

This dashboard allows you to analyze issues. An issue is a field associated with tickets determining the type of issue encountered, (e.g., auto launch failed, communications/device issues etc.). You can analyze events which are also associated with tickets.

3 Features Walk-through

This section shows you the key features and options for utilizing the Analytic dashboards. The dashboard is comprised of widgets.

3.1 What is a Widget?

A widget, in this context, represents a box or pane on the dashboard. You can customize the focus, data scope and visualization of various dashboard and widget data. The widget shown is located on the Meetings Dashboard.

3.1.1 What are Card Widgets?

The solid colored widgets which display totals are called cards. For example:

You can customize the dashboard, widget and card widget data and graphics displays as desired for analysis.

3.2 Launching Analytics

1. From the Symphony Admin View, navigate to Analytics. You can click the top right arrow to expand/collapse the Analytic dashboards available.

2. Click on an analytics category, in this case Meetings.

3.3 Dashboard Toolbar Features

This section discusses the key features and options available to the entire dashboard. For example, the top toolbar on the dashboard options display as shown.

1. You can place your mouse over an option or icon to view tool tip definitions.

2. You can click on icons or options to modify the dashboard display. The following sections describe the key dashboard features.

NOTE When you navigate away from the dashboard, the default view of the dashboard is restored, (i.e., your changes are NOT saved).

3.3.1 Filter Dashboard by Dates (Date Range)

1. You can click the Date Range option on the dashboard toolbar to filter data for the days between specific dates selected, (includes days selected).

3.3.2 Metric Selections

1. You can change what you want to analyze, (i.e., the main [primary] metric used to

display dashboard data), by clicking the gears icon on the dashboard toolbar. The What do you want to analyze screen displays.

2. Next, click the options displayed depending on the type selected.

a. For example, by clicking Meeting Duration button you can choose whether to show the Total Number of minutes for Meeting Duration, the Average Meeting Duration, or use the Back arrow to Cancel the action.

b. The dashboard displays the widgets according to your specification. In this case

Average Meeting Duration was chosen. The dashboard contains the new dashboard name Average Meeting Duration) and the widgets associated with Meeting Duration are shown in terms of minutes, days, etc. depending on the widget.

c. You can point to a metric on the graphics to enlarge the statistic as shown, e.g. Average Meeting Duration for Cisco device.

Notice the card 1 widget in the top right corner now reflects Average Meeting Duration in minutes:

3.3.3 Filter Property Selections

Each type of dashboard has its own filtering data properties (fields) and selection criteria. The default filtering criteria is All data. You can narrow the scope of the data using the filter option.

1. You can select how you want to filter the data by clicking on the icon.

2. Press the back arrow (top right) to return to the previous screen.

a. For example, click the down arrows next to a property displayed to display the selections, (i.e., change from default value All).

b. Click on a selection from the list, in this case, April 2019 was selected for Period. You

c. Next, click the back arrow on the right to display the dashboard with the customized filter data, (April 2019).

3.3.4 Other Dashboard Options

You can perform other dashboard options such as full screen mode or printing the dashboard.

1. You can click the ellipsis icon for more options (top right).

a. Next, select full screen mode or print the page using the drop-down icons.

You can also see various detail report data using links shown on the dashboard. For example, navigate to Analytics > Meetings dashboard and see the detail links available on the bottom left of the screen .

2. To sort the report, hover over a field and click the arrow ( )under the field label (up or down) to sort data in ascending or descending order respectively.

3.4 Widget Key Features

This section discusses the key features and options available to the widgets on the dashboard. The widgets offer a variety of features depending on the type of widget.

3.4.1 Gears Icon - What to Analyze

1. For example, you can click the gears icon to change the category being analyzed for the widget.

3. You can change the default property/category on the card widgets by clicking the gears

icon in the top left corner. The data displayed depends on the dashboard you are utilizing. For example, the Meetings Card 2 widget (Total Number of Participants) is displayed by default:

2. Select a button to change what appears on the card, such as Call Rate.

3.4.2 Rooms Widget Types

The Rooms Locations widget displays a map of the rooms for the Symphony account(s).

2. By clicking the gears icon (top left), you can select the graph desired.

a. Room Coverage allows you to monitor service contracts expirations, device warranty expirations and device lease expirations. This feature allows you to proactively plan to ensure device and room coverage does not expire.

5. Finally, Room Types provide visualization of your different room types.

The number of meetings by Room Name card offers you a list of the room usage frequency (most and least used rooms).

3.4.3 Slider Options

The various dashboards such as Meetings and Savings Dashboards contain slider options.

1. Click the slider buttons to change the statistical data displayed in a widget.

2. For example, click the white circle to switch the slider from PoP (Period over Period) results instead of Year over Year (YoY) as shown above.

3.4.4 Graphic Visualization

To change the appearance of the widget by clicking the chart visualization icons offered for the widget. You can find these icons below on various widgets in dashboards depending on widget type. You can point at the icons for tool tip descriptions.

➢ plotted graph

➢ Heat map

➢ Circular graph

1. For example, change from a vertical bar chart graphic to a plotted graphic by clicking the

icon.

3.4.5 Widget Options Toolbar

You can hover your mouse over a widget to display available toolbars. Point to an icon on the toolbar to display tool tips. The tools displayed depend on the widget data, not all widgets have a toolbar.

1. For example, selecting Analytics > Tickets and hovering over the Running Tickets Count

by Date widget renders the following widget toolbar .

3.4.6 Drill-up and Drill-down Data

The widget data can be totaled and displayed differently by drilling-up or drilling-down into the data, (i.e., changing data scope).

1. Click the up arrow icon on the widget toolbar to change the display. In this scenario, the data rolls up to monthly display rather than daily and changes the widget graphic rendered.

2. You can click the drill-up arrow again to roll up the data further on the graphic. 3. You can drill-down deeper into the data rendered on the graphic by clicking the drill

down arrows .

3.4.7 Widget Filters

1. Clicking the filter icon displays the following property information. In this case, there are multiple accounts (see Account Name) utilized to render the visual data, (e.g., Antibes LLC and AVI Development INT).

3.4.8 Widget Focus

To focus on the widget data means you can enlarge the graphic and you can display the detail data used to create the graphic.

1. Click the Pop out icon to display the graph and more options. In this example, the image and another toolbar display.

3.4.9 Exporting Widget Data

1. The ellipsis icon allows you to export the data to xlsx (Excel) or to a .csv (comma separated value) format. You have the option to export summarized or underlying (detail) data.
