But it can be said definitely that badminton used to be played in the 17th century in England at a place called ‘Badminton’. In India it was also played in Pune in around 1870. In 1893, Badminton Association of England was established. Bandminton Association of India was formed in 1934.

History : This game has its base in Poona, Maharashtra, Deccan Gymkhana arranged a conference in Poona. In which rules of this game were framed. In 1960 Kho-Kho federation of India was established and in the same year the first National Championship for men was organized. First National Championship for women was started in 1961. Kho-Kho was introduced as a demonstration game in Berlin Olympic held in 1936 and Asian Games in Delhi in 1982. However, this game is not included in either Olympic or Asian Games.
