Tummy Trends Mobile App

AMITIZA, a product of Takeda Pharmaceuticals U.S.A., Inc., is indicated for Chronic Idiopathic Constipation (CIC) in adults and Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Constipation (IBS-C) in women. Because the symptoms of constipation and IBS are chronic and ever changing, patients can have difficulty tracking symptoms over time and accurately explaining them to their healthcare professionals (HCPs). As a result, there is high potential for patient–HCP miscommunication, which can impede the HCP’s ability to properly treat these conditions and know whether a prescription treatment like AMITIZA may be beneficial. closerlook, inc. recommended developing a mobile application to help patients monitor their symptoms, treatments and behaviors, and more easily and accurately share them with their HCPs. In order to make the app accessible to as many people as possible, closerlook recommended developing it as an unbranded app and making it available in the Apple iTunes App Store free of charge. The first mobile app effort for Takeda Pharmaceuticals U.S.A., Inc., Tummy Trends is a discreet and convenient patient-helping mobile application designed with a focus on ease of use for constipation and IBS sufferers and their HCPs.

On March 30, 2012, version 1.0 of the Takeda Tummy Trends mobile app, built on the Apple platform for the iPhone and iPod touch, was launched in the iTunes App Store. In its first two weeks in the store, Tummy Trends was already ranked as a five-star app. Tummy Trends is being marketed to HCPs and to patients via print pieces delivered by Takeda Sales Representatives and an e-mail sent to HCPs who have opted in to receive communications from AMITIZA.
