This year, our mystery looks at "Murderous Mary," the elephant hung for murder in 1916. Step back in time and help your host, General Rufus Ayers, sift through the clues and determine if Mary acted alone or did someone else have a hand in killing Red Eldridge. Open to anyone age 16 or older. $10 fee per person. Deadline for registration is July 31 - limit 25 people October 31 - Hoot‘n’Haints Learn about the origins of Halloween and how many of today's spooky traditions came to be. There will also be a variety of Halloween themed games and crafts. This program is free and open to all trick-or-treaters 29 - Gathering in the Gap May November 14 - December 31 Festival of Trees For the 15th year running, the museum hosts a beloved holiday tradition, the Festival of Trees. More than 80 trees will be on display. Individuals, families, churches, businesses, schools and civic groups in the region provide the decorations. Step into a lovely, enchanting atmosphere of community and holiday spirit. Regular admission rates apply. December 4 - Breakfast with the Grinch Join everybody's favorite humbug, the Grinch, and Cindy-Lou Who for a festive holiday meal . We will read the Dr. Seuss classic How the Grinch Stole Christmas while we enjoy a meal that includes green eggs and ham. There will be two seatings for breakfast: 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Advance reservations are required. Fee: $10.00. Limit of 20 people per seating. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. .
