INDIA WAS PIONEER IN TECHNOLOGY • Indian scientific reserved were hijacked to Europe by the Arabs & they made it bedrock for the birth of

modern science.

• In India, study of ancient science remained neglected & many scientific manuscripts remained untranslated and unpublished.

• India's architecture was world’s one of the finest architectures(e.g.- Konarka, Tajmahal etc.).

Achievements-

• Limitless space – Bhaskara

• Concept of infinity - Brahmagupta

• Concept of evolution - DASHAVATARA( father of Darwin theory of evolution)

• Earth is rotating- Aryabhata

• Mathematics’ achievement - we discovered concept of zero, pie, decimal and many other formulas.

• Literature - Veda, Upanishads, Gita, Mahabharata, etc.

• Ancient universities- University of Nalanda and Takshila.

Page 4: swoyam123

• Patents filed by India in 2011 was 39400. • India’s R & D spent approximately 1% of the GDP. • Share of basic research- 26% • Applied Research- 36% • Developmental Research- 32% • Other Research-6%

EDUCATION PROBLEMS

• Less practical, right from elementary level. • Less vocational education. • Stressed exam pattern. • Research oriented teachers are less. • Many state universities are giving degrees having no

research in there curriculum. • Lack of interest among the graduates to join higher

education. • Lack in social sector research. • Use of old model instruments in lab.

CONSEQUENSES CONSEQUENSES • Dull mind & innovations. • No practical implementation. • Theory oriented & result oriented study. • Limiting the young mind. • Useless 15 lakh graduates. • Number of PhD degree holder results in less

research publication, journal and patents. • Poor in tourism & outlook about society • Far away from modern day application of

technology. .

CITIZEN COMMENT DISTRICT AUTHORITY

MINISTRY STATE AUTHORITY S & T IMPLEMENTATION

CENTRAL AUTHORITY

1. ANY CITIZEN OF INDIA CAN GIVE THEIR VIEWS OR IDEAS THROUGH A SPECIALISED WEBSITE. 2. THE IDEAS OR VIEWS WILL BE RECEIVED BY DISTRICT LEVEL AUTHORITY. 3. THAT AUTHORITY WILL FORWARD THE IDEA TO STATE AUTHORITY,IF REQUIRED(SEEING THE VALIDITY.) 4. IDEAS WILL BE FORWARDED TO CENTRAL AUTHORITY AND UPTO IMPLEMENTATION. 5. THIS WILL ADD LAKHS/CRORES OF NEW IDEAS. 6. THIS PROCESS CANNOT BE DONE DIRECTLY AS IT WILL CREATE A LOT OF PENDINGS. 7. THE HIGHER AUTHORITIES WILL RECIEVE PHASE BY PHASE.

• Currently, very less PhD holders, in India, are coming out every year which is not sufficient as compared to international standards. • Govt. need to announce higher education policy with new schemes, sufficient funds, advance equipments, high class professors, high quality laboratory, job between study duration, foreign tours for interaction, etc. • More felicitation should be given to junior scientists.

• Management study and economics should be included in the research curriculum.

Page 6: swoyam123

LACK OF LEVEL PLAYING FIELD..

ADVANCED CURRICULUM 1. CLASS HOUR- AVG 5 HOURS 2. WORKING DAY-5 DAY/WEEK 3. EXAM PATTERN – EXAM MAJOR- 40 MARK. INTERNAL – 15 + 15. TOTAL = 70. 4. SOMETIMES 60 AND REST 30- 40 ARE PROJECTS AND

LAB. 5. PROJECTS ARE SOMETHING NEW BUT RELATED TO

CURRICULUM. CONSEQUENCES-- 1. ADDING NEW VIEWS TO R& D CURRICULUM. 2. REALISING THE REAL SENSE OF APPLICATION AND

IMPLEMENATION.

TRADITIONAL CURRICULUM 1. CLASS HOUR- 6 HOUR.

2. WORKING DAYS- 6 DAYS/WEEK

3. EXAM PATTERN –

EXAM MAJOR- 70 MARKS

INTERNAL -30 MARKS.

4. NO PROJECTS UPTO END OF 3RD YEAR.

5. ADDING ZERO TO R & D. COMPLETELY EXAM ORIENTED PATTERN.

CONSEQUENCES--

1. NO VIEW & UPDATE ON LATEST TRENDS.

2. THEORY AND MARK ORIENTED CURRICULUM.

3. OUTPUT R & D IS ALMOST ZERO.

WE NEED Time to time review of curriculum, for improving the research mind and adopting the latest science world. Top authorities of the university needs to visit the institutes which is long ahead of their university, due to latest curriculum. Rewards at central level for the best way of curriculum and innovation. Minor degree with main degree needs to be introduced(ex- b. tech with MBA, EE (B.Tech) with minor in mechanical, economics, civil or chemical, etc). Organisations like UGC, AICTE needs to be more strict in giving approvals to colleges. marks for projects from initial semesters to promote innovation.

Page 7: swoyam123

RESEARCH, INNOVATION & PATENT GRID

• Currently, there is a lack of co-ordination between the research institutions and laboratory.

• New institutes should be formed to store all(pan India) the research & innovation record.

• All the research papers should be statistically analysed every year.

• Areas where research is poor should be analysed and further steps will be taken.

• RESEARCH INNOVATION PATENT

SOCIAL STUDY RESEARCH- THEN & NOW

• India has a rich heritage and having more than 5000 years of glory history.

• As per the report, today the research & discovery in this field of India is almost negligible.

• These fields are adding nothing to the society(research).

• History, geography, political science, literature are almost neglected.

• This phase is continuing over years.

• Recently data published about research found that our social study research is going to almost zero.

• If this will continue, then our next generation may forget about our past.

We need-

1. More careers in social science.

2. More security job and research .

3. More scope for earning.

4. More institutions (advanced quality)

5. Connecting social research with scientific research.

6. Training and equipment for their research.

7. Scope for going abroad and observing other countries strategies.

8. More sports university, sports research.

9. To study the social and scientific aspects of sports.

Page 9: swoyam123

INDIA’S DEFENCE SITUATION AND ITS IMPROVEMENT

• We need to merge the 40 odd DRDO/CSIR/PSU laboratories that work for the Armed Forces into 10 to 12 laboratories. Do the same thing with Ordinance Factories. Relocate manpower to achieve 100 % manning. Difficult indeed, but inescapable, and the economic imperatives of the day demand, it is done, sooner than later. • We need to make more defense university which is going to do the study & research on the scientific, economic, political and foreign scenario relating to India’s defence system (we welcome the Govt. decision to make Indian national defence U.V in Gurgaon.) • Defence PSUs and the DRDO need to be partially controlled by our various armed forces .( EX-HAL need to be accountable to IAF,O.F.B AT AVADI need to be accountable to Indian armed force, and various ship building dock ward need to be accountable to Indian naval force) • Various defense specific courses ,and degrees need to be introduced in our academic curriculum. • National defense innovation policy need to be introduced by the defense ministry which is going to set the road map future development of our defense equipment. • We need to make defense PSUs as a profit making body by exporting various low cost product to India's friendly nation. which would act as a confidence booster for the defense PSUs. • Defence policy need to look into speedy allocation of fund for defense research project, and setting a time frame for each research . 8 With effective foreign policy ,we should concentrate on joint development( e.g.: FGFA with RUSSIA),technology transfer agreement and license production of defense equipments, instead of buying directly form outside venders.

SOME FACTS ABOUT INDIAS DEFENCE RESEARCH. 1) India is the worlds largest importer of arms and ammunition. 2) India import almost 70% of its need from the foreign market. 3) Tejas and Arjun tank take 30 years to complete still it is not inducted to armed force. 4) A 2010 Deloitte study projected India’s arms procurement to rise from $41 billion today to $120 billion by 2017. 5) India is words 4th largest army.

Page 10: swoyam123

MORE RESEARCH NEED TO BE DONE ON INDIA’S PRIMITIVE ART, CULTURE, PAST HISTORY, LANGUAGES, TRADITION AND

HISTORICAL LITERATURE

MORE REASEARCH ON AYURVEDA A-We need make more ayurvedas hospital .ayurvedic

university or joint university which going to deal with both ayurvedas and modern medical science.

B- Research need to be done on great Shasta's and Upanishads belong to ayurveda .ex:susruta sanhita

C-We need to use ayrvedic technology in personal care product instead of chemical biology technology.

D-More research need to be done on the ayurvedic product which can substitute the current highly chemical active product because ayurvedic products would be very cheap, no side effect, its economical benefit would go to farmers, india can save large amount of foreign exchange money and also it can increase its exports through ayurvedic product as there is not a single substitute of this 5000 year science.

E-These product need to brand properly, so research need to be done on how to promote and how to brand globally

CULTURAL & LINGUISTIC RESEARCH •Research on scientific value of our reach tradition. •Research on India's culture •Research on India's languages and there past literatures.(every state wise language need have at least one language university .ex : Odia university, Marathi university, Guajarati university.) •RESEARCH HEAVILY ON SANSKRIT: •More Sanskrit university to study Sanskrit's literature and current scientific value to it. •NASAs report says that Sanskrit is the most scientific language hence it is researching to develop compiler based on Sanskrit ,so India need to do the same.

Page 11: swoyam123

POLITICAL SOLUTION •1- more funding to research projects from the budget by both state and central

governments. •WHY:A- Currently India invest only o.9% of G.D.P in R & D and innovation project

which is far less than the world’s share of 2.2%. India invest fewer in % than many countries those China, USA,UK , Russia, Japan, and even lesser % than countries like south Korea ,Israel ,Ireland and Iceland etc.

•COUNTER ARGUMENT: Some people say that because they are developed nation that’s why they are investing g so much .

•OUR ARGUMENT: It is not true that they are developed nation that’s why they are investing so much on R&D,but in our point of view they invest so much earlier that’s why they become developed. So, India need to concentrate on investing more on research

•2:THERE SHOULD BE A PAN INDIA NODAL AGENCY IN THE FIELD OF SCIENCE &TECH, RESEARCH INNOVATION AND DEVELOPMENT FIELD.

•3:NATIONAL SCIENTIFIC REASEARCH INNOVATION AND DEVLOPMENT POLICY. A-YES WE CAN OR WHY CANT WE. B-SHORT TERM POLICY(3 TO 5 YEARS), LONG TERM POLICY(5 TO 20 YEAR) •4: INDIA CURRENTLY INVESTING ONLY 0.9% OF GDP IN THE R&D&I THA T NEED TO BE

ATLEAST NEED TO BE INCREASED TO 1.5% THROUGH A PROPER PLANNING. •5-ACCOUNTIBILITY: all the research institute need to be accountable to the ministry

of science and tech along with there parent ministries. •6: ALL THE STATE GOVT NEED HAVE THERE OWN SCIENTIFIC INSTITUTE OR

UNIVERSITY WHICH SHOULD BACK BY THE CENTRAL GOVT.(EX,ORDISSA NEED TO HAVE UNIVERSITY ON MINING AS ITS SOIL IS FULL OF MENEARAL REASERVE ,2-GUJURAT NEED HAVE RESEARCH EXTENSIVELY IN THE FIELD OF TEXTILE AND DIMOND EXTRACTION TECHNOLGY)

The secretary and ministry of science and tech should belongs to science background.

There should be nomination of eminent scientists in Rajya sabha.( amendments required)

A cabinet committee on innovation should be formed.

.
