Swords of Defense Presentation to GC Dave Stanger May 7, 2019 Rex Lodge 551 bestowed Grand Chancellor (GC) David Stanger (center in photo below) with the “Shield” at its 21 st Annual Swords of Defense Grand Chancellor honor night, Tuesday, May 7. Like the 20 Grand Chancellors preceding him, GC David Stanger received an historical Pythian Sword from Rex Lodge 551. PDSC David Peltzer (Yorktown Lodge 859; to right of GC in photo below) officiated over the presentation ritual he devised. Over 100 people witnessed the presentation which remains one of the most popular of all the GC gift presentations. A dinner courtesy of Rex Lodge preceded the ceremony which took place at Ancient Order of Hibernians Hall in Brooklyn. Rex Lodge 551 bestowed Grand Chancellor (GC) David Stanger (center in photobelow) with the “Shield” at its 21st Annual Swords of Defense Grand Chancellor honornight, Tuesday, May 7.

Like the 20 Grand Chancellors preceding him, GC David Stanger received anhistorical Pythian Sword from Rex Lodge 551. PDSC David Peltzer (Yorktown Lodge859; to right of GC in photo below) officiated over the presentation ritual he devised.
