DAY 1 ARRIVE SAN JOSE Welcome to San Jose! One of Swiss Travel’s Representatives will be waiting for you at the airport. He will give you a warm welcome and guide you to the transfer that will take you to your hotel. There you will spend the rest of the evening and prepare yourself for the next day. Hotel: Costa Rica Marriott or similar. Welcome dinner at your hotel in San Jose. Meal: D

DAY 2 SAN JOSE - TORTUGUERO NATIONAL PARK Rise up early in the morning and start your journey to Costa Rica’s Caribbean Coast. You will embark a boat in Siquirres and cruise through beautiful wetlands until reaching the town of Tortuguero. There, you will be able to taste a delicious buffet lunch at your lodge and then stroll the streets of the village. You will spend the rest of the evening at Laguna Lodge or a similar hotel. Meals: B, L, D

DAY 3 TORTUGUERO NATIONAL PARK Cruise the canals and streams of the park today as howler monkeys watch from the treetops, toucans and egrets fly through the air and crocodiles ply the cool waters. If you visit this area between July and September, you will also have the opportunity to book an optional tour to see the impressive spectacle sea turtles offer while laying eggs on the beach. Enjoy a pleasant afternoon at the lodge and spend the night at Laguna Lodge or similar. Meals: B, L, D

DAY 4 TORTUGUERO -ARENAL Enjoy an early morning breakfast and embark on a motor boat that will take you from Tortuguero into the city of Guápiles. There you will delight yourself with a regional lunch, after which you will begin a journey to La Fortuna de San Carlos, home of the majestic Arenal Volcano. On the way to La Fortuna, you will take part of an Organic Pineapple Tour, where you will listen to traditional music and taste a delicious smoothie and fresh slices of pineapple. You will spend the night at Arenal Paraiso Hotel or similar. Meals: B, L

DAY 5 ARENAL During this morning you will enjoy a beautiful Arenal Hanging Bridges Tour that will take you into the heart of a primary forest reserve. With the help of experienced guides, you will learn about natural history and find a fascinating and colorful tropical rain forest world. The imposing vistas of the Arenal Volcano and a visit to the Tabacón Hot Springs will give you time to relax in this magical setting. You will spend the night at Arenal Paraiso Hotel or similar. Meals: B, D

DAY 6 ARENAL - MONTEVERDE CLOUD FOREST Right in Costa Rica’s Continental Divide, the Monteverde Cloud Forest is home to luxurious vegetation, abundant wildlife, beautiful coffee plantations and spectacular views. This will be the setting where you will spend two nights one of Costa Rica’s most famous National Parks. You will enjoy dinner at a local restaurant and spend the night at El Establo Hotel or similar. Meals: B, D

DAY 7 MONTEVERDE CLOUD FOREST Join your guide for a tour through the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, home to one of Costa Rica’s most intense biological areas. Visit El Trapiche, a Costa Rican family business full of traditions and learn about the production of sugar cane, coffee, bananas, plantains, tubers, oranges and more. Ride a Costa Rican oxcart and delight yourself with a fragrant cup of fresh coffee. Spend the night at El Establo Hotel or similar. Meal: B

DAY 8 MONTEVERDE - DEPART SJOA comfortable vehicle will transfer you from Monteverde to the Juan Santamaria International Airport, where you will take your flight back home or connect to your beach destination in the Guanacaste area.

DAY 1 ARRIVE SAN JOSE You will arrive at the Juan Santamaría International Airport and a Swiss Travel Representative will be waiting for you as you exit the terminal. There you will be guided to your transfer and taken to the Studio Hotel (or similar) to proceed with your check-in. Enjoy a delicious dinner at the hotel before heading out to your rooms for the rest of the evening. You will spend the following two nights at this hotel. Meals: D

DAY 2 SAN JOSE- PACUAREEarly in the morning, you will be driven to the Pacuare River for a day full of adventure and adrenaline. Professional guides and top quality safety equipment will be waiting upon your arrival to the river. After some safety instructions, you will start on this incredible rafting journey. In the water and experience the exhilaration of riding the waves on this wild and scenic river. After a hearty lunch, you will have the rest of the afternoon at leisure, optional afternoon activities include hiking, fishing or relaxing in a hammock. Spend the night at Pacuare River Lodge or similar. Meals: B, L, D

DAY 3 PACUARE - ARENALThe harmonious sounds of the river and the birds in the forest will awaken your senses. After a delicious buffet breakfast, you will board the rafts for a second day of the river expedition. Stops along the way will allow you to enjoy the scenery and jump in the water. Lunch will be served along the river and when reaching the take out, you will be able to change into dry clothes and continue with your trip to Arenal Area, located in the country’s northern region, leaving you with an afternoon of leisure to enjoy the natural hot springs at the hotel. Dinner on your own and you will spend the night at Arenal Kioro Hotel or similar. Meals: B, L

DAY 4 ARENALEnjoy a delicious breakfast and then begin an adventure at the Sky Limit; a high performance circuit that combines a high ropes course, zip lines, canyoning, rappel, Tarzan swing, bridges and many challenging activities in the heart of the rainforest. This is definitely an adventure where the nature of the tropical forest will inspire you to overcome the challenges that arise. Relax during the evening, dine on your own and spend the night at Arenal Kioro Hotel or similar. Meals: B, L

DAY 5 ARENAL - GUANACASTE Continuing into the Guanacaste Area, you will stay two nights at the Tamarindo Beach Hotel. After lunch, you will enjoy an ATV Adventure that will take you near beaches and dirt roads surrounded by nature, a wide variety of birds and if lucky, groups of howler monkeys. You will also visit the local towns and get to know the people. Enjoy the rest of the evening for leisure or optional activities. You will spend the night at the Tamarindo Diriá Beach & Golf Resort. DAY 6 GUANACASTE – TAMARINDO BEACH Your day will start with a delicious breakfast and then, since you are in one of Costa Rica’s most important surf spots, you will learn how to surf, surrounded by the natural beauty of Playa Tamarindo, with lessons suited for all levels of surfers. During the afternoon, relax with an amazing Catamaran Sailing Tour, as you silently glide along Costa Rica’s Gold Coast while passing some of Guanacaste’s exotic bays, white sand beaches and tropical jungles, as you scan the seas for dolphins, sea turtles, flying fish or even a breaching whale. Stop in a tranquil bay, drop anchor and frolic in the blue Pacific. Snorkel in the bay or run down the deserted white sand beach while the ever helpful crew prepares a succulent meal for you. DAY 1 ARRIVE HEREDIAYou will arrive to the Juan Santamaría International Airport, where a local representative will meet and guide you into a transfer that will take you to the Bougainvillea Hotel (or similar) to proceed with the check in. You will spend the rest of the day to relax, unwind and enjoy a delicious welcome dinner at the hotel. This will be your hotel for the following two nights. Meals: D

DAY 2 HEREDIAYou will have breakfast in the hotel and depart to the Solo Rosas Garden, the largest organic rose garden in Latin America, where the delicate sound of classical music provides the perfect background and the scent of thousands of roses will make your senses come alive. A visit to the National Center of Gardening will show you all kinds of plants, tools, equipment, pots, fertilizers, soil, ornamental stones, hydroponic formulas textbooks, and other supplies used in gardens and crops while a stop at Hacienda La Laguna will let you appreciate its beautiful orchid gardens. You will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and dine on your own. Overnight at Bougainvillea Hotel or similar. Meals: B, L

DAY 3 HEREDIA – SAN RAMONRight after breakfast at the Bougainvillea Hotel you will begin a journey into the town of San Ramón. On the way there, you will visit a local market so you can see the most traditional Costa Rican vegetables and fruits and how local people interact in the daily trade. After this, you will stop at the Espiritu Santo Coffee plantation, where you will witness the entire Coffee Production process, from the seedling area to the tasting room you will learn the secrets of this appetizing beverage. You will enjoy lunch during this tour and have the rest of the afternoon to relax. Dinner is on your own and you will spend the night at the Villa Blanca Cloud Forest Hotel or similar for the next two nights. Meals: B, L

DAY 4 SAN RAMON - SARCHIEarly in the morning, you will enjoy breakfast at the Villa Blanca Cloud Forest Hotel (or similar). After this, you will begin a journey to the town of Sarchí, home of Costa Rica´s most skilled craftsmen and where the famous hand painted oxcarts are produced. A stop at the Else Kientzler Botanical Garden, will let you admire over 2.000 different types of plants and flowers from all over the world. You will have lunch at a local restaurant and dine on your own. The Villa Blanca Cloud Forest Hotel or similar will be your hotel for the evening. Meals: B, L

DAY 5 SAN RAMON - ARENALYour day begins with breakfast at the Villa Blanca Cloud Forest Hotel before beginning a transfer into the zone of Arenal. A stop at the town of Zarcero will allow you to admire the town Public Park that shows the work of local artist Evangelista Blanco; over 120 carefully sculpted figures in the foliage of pines and cypresses. Once reaching your hotel in the area of Arenal, you can have lunch on your own and dine at the Arenal Kioro Hotel (or similar), where you will be staying for the night. Meals: B, D

DAY 6 ARENALBreakfast at the Arenal Kioro Hotel is delicious. After this, you will take part of a guided journey into ‘Arenal Vida Campesina’, a place that will let you appreciate the traditional and non-traditional farming culture and participate in activities like milking a cow, making tortillas or gathering vegetables from the vegetable garden, as well as the opportunity to collaborate with the environment by sponsoring and planting a tree and enjoying a typical, organic lunch. After lunch, let’s enjoy the Sky Tram and Sky Trek, and fly above the tree tops inside a comfortable and spacious gondola or suspended by a harness above the forest while you watch local wildlife nearly at your fingertips. You will enjoy fantastic views of Arenal Volcano, its lake, and the Tilarán mountain range. Dine and spend the night at the Arenal Kioro Hotel or similar. Meals: B, L, D

DAY 7 ARENAL-SAN JOSE Enjoy breakfast at the Arenal Kioro Hotel before heading out to the Juan Santamaria International Airport. You will have the option to visit Orquid Garden, a place that will allow you to observe the orchid life across different settings such as tropical trails, varied gardens, exhibition spots, learning nurseries and more. DAY 1 ARRIVE SAN JOSE As you arrive to the Juan Santamaría International Airport you will be met by a Swiss Travel Representative who will guide you to the transfer that will take you to Studio Boutique Hotel. Later in the evening, we will have a rural charm tour that will take you through rural life in San Antonio de Escazú, learn about the city’s history, culture and participate in an entertaining masquerade contest. DAY 2 SAN JOSE – SARAPIQUI RAINFORESTEnjoy a buffet breakfast at the hotel and get ready to begin an adventure at Hacienda Pozo Azul, located on Costa Rica's Caribbean, where you will be able to choose between a Rafting Tour (Class II & III) an 8 mile ride in the waters of the Sarapiquí River and a Horseback Riding tour. Within this, 2.000 acre operating ranch. After these tours you will return to your hotel in San José, to spend the night. Overnight at the Studio Hotel. Meals: B, L

DAY 3 ARENAL VOLCANO AREA / POAS VOLCANO VISIT A delicious buffet breakfast is available for you at the hotel. After breakfast, board a private guided transport to the Arenal area, going through the via Poás Volcano National Park and the Freddo Leche Tour. The crater in the Poás Volcano is considered to be the largest active crater in the world, with frequent, geyser-like eruptions. Beautiful trails, cloud forests, stunted and twisted vegetation are all part of this habitat and if the weather conditions allow for it, you will have the chance to visit and observe the Lake Botos, which fills an extinct crater at the end of one trail. Then you will continue to Freddo Leche farm, where you will be able to admire incredible views and rural landscapes, rural settings, viewpoints, the Lake of the Grandfather, the Strawberries Tour, herd cows from their barns to the milking stalls and taste succulent Artisan Cheese. You will spend the night in Arenal at the Royal Corin Hotel. Meals: B, L

DAY 4 ARENAL VOLCANOEnjoy breakfast at the hotel and head out to the Arenal Volcano National Park for a hiking tour. You will walk along the old lava beds, learn about the volcano, the tropical forest surrounding it and the wildlife from a trained guide. After this tour, you will have the whole afternoon to relax and in the evening, you will be taken to the Hot Springs, an unmatched sanctuary of natural beauty and relaxation, where three thermal springs naturally surface and flow in the property at 122º. Overnight at the Royal Corin Hotel. Meals: B, D

DAY 5 MANUEL ANTONIOAfter having an early morning breakfast, you will travel to one of the most beautiful beaches in the Central Pacific: Manuel Antonio, going through beautiful scenic routes and the towns of Jacó and Quepos, where infrastructure has developed to make them very popular among surfers and water enthusiasts, also they have superior restaurants. On the way to Manuel Antonio, a stop at the Guacalillo Estuary and the Tárcoles River offer the opportunity to observe one of the largest colonies of crocodiles in the world, the richest mangrove forest in the Mid-Pacific coast and the most important area in the country for the conservation of the scarlet macaw. Spend the night at the Parador Hotel or similar. Meals: B, L

DAY 6 MANUEL ANTONIOEnjoy breakfast at the hotel and take part in the Manuel Antonio National Park Hike (closed on Mondays), where a charming combination of beach vegetation, lagoons, mangrove swamps, 109 species of mammals and 184 species of birds interact with crystal clear waters and beautiful forests. The rest of the afternoon will be available for you to relax and enjoy the scenery, although we suggest to take the optional Sunset Catamaran Tour, visiting the beautiful Bisanz beach and snorkeling in one of the best spots in Manuel Antonio. Overnight at the Parador Hotel or similar. Meals: B

DAY 7 MANUEL ANTONIOBreakfast will be served at your hotel and the rest of the day is at your complete disposal to relax or enjoy any optional activities. At night, you will enjoy a Pizza Party and spend the rest of the evening at the Parador Hotel or similar. Meals: B, Pizza Party

DAY 8 DEPARTUREA private guided transport will take you from the Parador Hotel into the Juan Santamaria International Airport via the town of Sarchí, known as Costa Rica’s most important handcraft center, where you will be able to appreciate the work of handy craftsmen while producing the world famous oxcarts, as well as to shop your favorite gift to take back home as a souvenir from your visit to Costa Rica.

DAY 1 ARRIVAL TO SAN JOSEThe adventure begins as you arrive to the Juan Santamaría International Airport and a Swiss Travel naturalist guide meets and greets you as you exit the passenger terminal. He will assist and guide you to a transfer that will take you to your selected hotel in San José to proceed with the check-in process. You will spend the night at the Studio Boutique Hotel. No meals.

DAY 2 TORTUGUEROEarly in the morning, a land and a boat transfer will take you to the Tortuguero area. On the way there, you will observe the beauty of the Braulio Carrillo National Park, and its rich flora and fauna, making this area a sanctuary covered by an emerald-green mass of vegetation. After breakfast, you will continue your journey into a dock, deeper into our Caribbean side, where the boats are waiting to transfer you to Evergreen lodge. After a two hour boat ride through amazing canals surrounded by the jungle of the rain forest and unique flora and fauna. Upon arrival, there will be a short briefing of the lodge and the activities included during your stay, followed by lunch and a visit to the village of Tortuguero, where you will learn about the lifestyle of local residents and the conservation efforts made by NGO’s to protect the sea turtles that come to spawn each year along the 22 miles of the protected coastline. Overnight at Evergreen Lodge. Meals: (B, L, D)

DAY 3 TORTUGUEROTortuguero is a great place for ecotourism lovers. During this day and depending on the weather conditions, you can enjoy a guided hike through the jungle, and learn how the different animals, insects and birds interact with forest plants, achieving a perfect balance of each species, or explore the secondary canals of this paradisiacal place to observe different species of mammals, birds and reptiles. Since much of the Tortuguero National Park extends along its unspoiled beaches that serve as refuge for spawning of the sea turtles, this is a perfect opportunity to get in direct touch with nature. Boat tours can be taken a.m. or p.m. All meals are included and you will spend the night at Evergreen Lodge.

DAY 4 TORTUGUERO - SELVA BANANITO RESERVEEarly in the morning, you will board a boat that will take you from Tortuguero to the port and then a private guided transportation to reach the pick-up point in the town of Bananito, where you will visit the Selva Bananito Eco Lodge, an extraordinary example for ecotourism: nature and adventure tourism services nestled in a pristine region of Costa Rica’s Caribbean area, the foothill of the Cerro Mochila. This private reserve, is an important buffer zone or transition area to the “International Park La Amistad” and Selva Bananito Ecolodge has achieved worldwide recognition as an example for Costa Rica ecotourism. Here, you will ensure memorable experiences while scouting out its old growth primary forests and learning about the importance of rain forest conservation. All meals are included and you will spend the night at Selva Bananito Eco Lodge.

DAY 5 SELVA BANANITO RESERVEThis day will be available for you to spend the way you desire. You can take part of optional activities like hiking, horseback riding, bird watching, planting a tree, jungle tree climbing or joining an adventure waterfall tour with rappel, Canopy observation Platform (Zipline Tour). At the end of the day you can return to Selva Bananito Eco Lodge, where you will spend the night. Meals: (B, L, D)

DAY 6 SELVA BANANITO – SARAPIQUIYou will begin this day enjoying a delicious breakfast the the lodge and then, board a transfer that will take you to the Selva Verde Rain Forest Lodge, in the town of Sarapiquí. You will be able to spend the afternoon bird watching at the Tirimbina Biological Reserve, where one of the highest concentration of bird species is available in the planet, with 875 different species accounted for. DAY 3 GANDOCA MANZANILLO WILDLIFE REFUGEThis will be a day full of adventure, while kayaking and snorkeling at Manzanillo. After a short instruction session on top of a kayak, you will start paddling into a wildlife refuge that covers around 10,000 acres in its marine portion and protects more than 5 square kilometers of coral reef along the coast. After a short ride, you will arrive to the beach, leave your kayak and start swimming over beautiful corals, being able to observe the amazing wildlife that inhabits these waters. DAY 8 SAN GERARDO DE DOTABegin your day with a delicious breakfast at Savegre Lodge and then start a hiking tour at Savegre Lodge or Los Quetzales National Park. DAY 1 ARRIVE TO SAN JOSE This adventure begins as soon as you land into the Juan Santamaría International Airport. There, you will be met by a Swiss Travel Representative and transferred to the Balmoral Hotel, where you will spend this night. No meals included.

DAY 2 JUANILAMAYou will be part of a private guided transfer from San José to the Juanilama Ecological Reserve, an area of 25 hectares of primary forests, where students will have the chance to hike and visit the Lioness Waterfall. Abundant tree species shared this ground with forest vegetation and animals like the white-faced and howler monkeys, agoutis, deer, reptiles, amphibians, birds and a diverse variety of insects are part of the ecosystem. A delicious lunch will be served in a rancho with the assistance of ladies from the community. After lunch, students will take part of artistic expressions made with reusable products extracted from nature, using leaves, dried petals, twigs, wool trees, egg shells, seeds and sawdust as raw materials, giving this experience a unique and memorable touch. Dinner will be served at Juanilama and overnight will be homestay with local families, allowing you to experience the lifestyle of the community. Meal options are based on recipes from Costa Rica.

DAY 3 JUANILAMAEnjoy breakfast at the home you stay in and take part of a soccer match that is organized by the children of the community after which families from the surroundings gather for lunch and to enjoy some “river time”, where you can enjoy tubing in the stream. After this activity, you will be able to plant a tree, reinforcing the importance of forest protection around the planet. After one year of your visit, you will receive a photograph (e-mail) to show how your piece of Costa Rica is growing! Enjoy dinner and spend the night at Juanilama homestay. Meals: B, L, D

DAY 4 JUANILAMABreakfast will be served at your local home as the rest of the day will be spent by students in a full day volunteer program, working for the benefit of community institutions and collaborating with the development of the local people. These projects raise awareness among participants on the importance of proper waste management, reforestation, planting, environmental protection, conservation of values and traditions, among other elements for sustainable development. DAY 5 ARENAL VOLCANO AREAEnjoy your last breakfast in Juanilama at the local rancho and observe a regional dance presentation from the children of the local school. After this, a private guided transport will take you to the Arenal Volcano area, to witness the beauty of a pristine rainforest by way of the Arenal hanging bridges. A local naturalist will lead you along the bridges, high above the ground and through the dense canopy, providing you with a bird’s-eye view of this wild ecosystem. Birds, monkeys, reptiles, insects, and maybe even a sloth will be visible. After this amazing experience, you will be able to relax in the thermal pools of Baldí Hot Springs, followed by dinner. DAY 7 JACO BEACHBegin your day early in the morning by having delicious breakfast at the hotel and then begin a trip that will take you to Jacó Beach in the Central Pacific region. On the way to Jacó Beach you will stop at the Guacalillo Estuary and the Tárcoles River, to observe one the largest colonies of crocodiles in the world, the richest mangrove forest in the Mid-Pacific coast and the most important area in the country for the conservation of the scarlet macaw. DAY 8 JACO BEACHEnjoy breakfast at the hotel before joining an amazing hiking tour into the Carara National Park, a relatively small park but with an enormous ecological importance due to its location in the transition area between the tropical dry forest and the tropical rainforest. This Park is home to one of the largest wild populations of scarlet macaws (Ara macao) that still remain and the Grande de Tárcoles River borders the park and helps provide the perfect habitat for a great variety of animals and birds. DAY 5 SANTA JUANA, QUEPOSEnjoy a delicious breakfast before heading out to explore Santa Juana on a full day excursion. This guided nature adventure takes you along the lush, jungle-shrouded slopes of the nearby Fila Chonta Mountain range to the farm village of Santa Juana de Tarrazú, a pristine mountain sanctuary of flora and fauna, beautiful rivers and mesmerizing waterfalls. DAY 7 GOLFO DULCESpend this morning snorkeling near the resort in Golfo Dulce, where some of the best snorkeling spots are available, then head out to Punta Adela for a local dive or Los Mogos for a long range half-day adventure. DAY 3 ARENAL VOLCANOAfter breakfast, start your day with a re-energizing Yoga class by the river, before joining your fellow travelers for a guided tour through the Ranch that teaches that Rancho Margot is located in an environmentally sensitive area known as the Biosphere of Water and Peace, a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Biosphere Reserve, and how each one of us can contribute to the sustainability of the ecosystems in which we live. DAY 4 ARENAL VOLCANOThis day’s yoga lesson takes place in a very special place, not only for its beauty but due to the natural energy that flows from the volcano: Tabacón Hot Springs, considered a natural expression of Earth's inherent energy. Geologically, these thermal natural springs make heated water to rise to the surface, taking with them minerals found in the earth's rocky stratus and making the springs absorb them to provide benefits from various chemical, physical and biological effects. After a morning of both exercise and relaxation, lunch waits for you at the main restaurant of Tabacón. After lunch you can choose from several tour options. Overnight at Rancho Margot. DAY 5 ARENAL VOLCANO – GUANACASTEAfter a morning yoga class, you will say goodbye to Rancho Margot and heading down to Tamarindo, on Costa Rica’s Pacific Coast. DAY 6 LANGOSTA BEACH CLUB A yoga retreat would not be complete without a class by the beach, and the perfect spot for this class is the Langosta Beach club, located in the middle of the town of Tamarindo. Here you will have plenty of choices for yoga, including a non-included option for yoga on long-boards. DAY 7 LA SENDARelax during the whole morning and don’t forget to hit the beach one more time. During the afternoon, you will visit an amazing place: “La Senda”, a magical place that according to researchers and historians, could have once been an indigenous sanctuary. Various energy centers and the largest labyrinth in the world that was built to amplify the power of those centers. Without a doubt it is the only labyrinth in the world which claims two centers, masculine and feminine, united in the Vesica Piscis, the point where creation happens. While travelling along this labyrinth the body’s biochemistry is readjusted and you can also go deeper within yourself as part of a meditation to create awareness.
