▪ 2009 NSRR 1.0▪ Initial Implementation based on HP Systinet

▪ 2015 NSRR 2.0▪ Redesigned using open-source Drupal web application

platform

▪ Started collaboration with SESAR

▪ 2017 NSRR 3.0 ▪ Based on NSRR users’ input, MITRE recommendations and

External User Survey results, the user interface was redesigned and additional capabilities developed

▪ In collaboration with SESAR EUROCONTROL, introduced Registry Interchange Module (RIM) that enables information exchange among SWIM registries

Background



① To provide a user interface that better suits consumers who are less familiar with SWIM engineering practices (e.g. external consumers, FAA business and international partners)

② To introduce a capability that allows a user to search for services based on the information that the user is looking for

③ To establish an interface that enables machine-to-machine interactions between the NSRR and other software agents

④ To address users' suggestions and recommendations for previous release

Major Design Goals



New in Release 3

▪ Redesigned Home Page clearly advertises key site capabilities

▪ Information Finder allows non-FAA ("external") users to find a

service of interest

▪ New Document Search allows users to easily find documents

▪ Dynamic API to exchange registry data with a software agent



New in Release 3 (continued)

▪ Redesigned and additional Advanced Searches, featuring

sorts and clear filters

▪ Message Catalog that contains all Messages and their

Payloads presented in the NSRR ( can be exported as a

CSV file)

▪ Redesigned pages for common tasks such as Printing

Description Docs and accessing Subscribed Services

▪ New pages that provide more information to

unauthenticated users, such as About NSRR, Contact Us,

Help




▪ Service Descriptions featured on current home page are

being rewritten in a standard format to provide the

clearest description in under 300 characters

▪ New descriptions are being vetted with Publishers, and

after that will be visible and searchable on the

Browse/view services page (current home page)

▪ Capability and process to allow editing of services in

Production lifecycle status

▪ Promotion request note to Registry Custodian
