Gorilla trekking Itinerary - Rwanda Kigali - Volcanoes National Park

2 Days / 1 Night

Optional activities at extra cost:

City tour with entrance fee to genocide memorial: $30 per person.

Guided village tour or visit to ex-poachers’ cultural village: $30 each

Golden Monkey trek @ $100 (morning activity only so requires additional night).

Hikes in the forest or mountains including Dian Fossey hike: $70 per person (park fees). Pre-booking advised.

Hiking or sightseeing at Twin Lakes: Included in costs but subject to time available.

Visit to Gisenyi (Lake Kivu): No extra cost but subject to time available.

Day 1 - Gorilla Volcanoes Hotel, Musanze Town

On arrival into Kigali you will be met and privately transferred 2.5hrs by road to Musanze where you stay at GORILLA

VOLCANOES HOTEL for one night. Your driver is available for the remainder of the day should you wish to explore

the surrounding local area or enjoy cultural activities.

Overnight: Gorilla Volcanoes Hotel Set high on the jungle-covered slopes of the volcanic Virunga Mountains, Parc National des Volcans is best known as a sanctuary for the region’s rare mountain gorillas. Highly regulated treks through the reserve allow visitors to spend an hour at a time with these incredible primates in their natural habitat.

The Gorillas Volcanoes Hotel is a three-star modern style hotel located in the town of Musanze which is around 40 minutes from the town of Kinigi where the Gorilla trekking start point is located. Guests are accommodated in thirty-one Deluxe and Executive rooms, each with self-contained en-suite bathroom (shower and bathtub combination), and a view of the volcanoes or gardens from the room balcony or patio. Rooms are equipped with free wi-fi, cable TV, complimentary bottled water, and a hairdryer on request. The hotel facilities include an outside swimming pool and gardens, health club and gym, 24-hr front desk, laundry service, baggage storage service, business centre, bar and lounge, restaurant serving delicious French and Belgian cuisine and local dishes, and an outside terrace where guests may relax after dinner. Gorilla Volcanoes Hotel has a pleasant ambiance and offers a clean and comfortable base for your Gorilla trekking adventure. (Please note this property is located in the town and does not therefore have views of the Volcanoes).

Day 2 - Gorilla Trekking – Transfer to Kigali

Early in the morning you will be privately transferred (approx. 30 minutes drive) to the Gorilla trekking headquarters where

your driver will liaise on your behalf to assign you to a Gorilla trekking group. You will join up to 8 other individuals in your

group and will be given a briefing before setting out to trek the Mountain Gorillas.

After the trek, you will be returned to Kigali (stopping for lunch en-route if you wish). Continue with your own International

flight arrangements. Should you require accommodation in Kigali for this evening please contact us for a quotation.

Please note if departing the same day, we recommend you book a flight departing after 9:00pm to allow time for trekking, transfers

and flight check-in. The finish time of a Gorilla trek cannot be guaranteed.
