Percents
Origin is Latin for “per centum” meaning “per 100”
In Italian “per cento” meaning “by 100” In Spanish “por ciento”
Converting between percentage and decimal
Percentage means "per 100", so 75% means 75 per 100, or simply 75/100 = 0.75
So, to convert from percentage to decimal: divide by 100 (and remove the "%" sign).
The easiest way to divide by 100 is to just move the decimal point 2 places to the left and remove the "%" sign!
What is 20% of 650?
