The bride-elect is a graduate of Forres-ton High School and Northern Illinois University. She is a registered nurse at CGH Medical Center.
Her fiancé is a graduate of Forreston High School and Kishwaukee College. He is employed by Holland & Sons in Dixon.
The couple are planning an Oct. 11, 2014 wedding at White Pines Wedding Canyon in Mount Morris.

They are the parents of Tori Shelley of Rock Falls; Jenny (Danny) Rodriquez of Maiden Rock, Wisconsin; Ed (Nola) Hwetkovsky of Brunswick, Maryland; and Deb (Rich) Palmer of Poolesville, Maryland.
They have seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Edward Miller and Lorraine McKeown were married Sept. 8, 1949, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sterling.
They are the parents of Ed (Terry) Mill-er, Mary (Dave) Hutchison, Rick (Julie) Miller, Steve (Theresa) Miller, Ann (deceased), Jim (Kim) Miller, Jane (Jim) Grove, and Agnes (Tim) Smith.
They have 32 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren.

Bunker Hill School Reunion
The Amboy High School Class of 1950 had its annual reunion Sept. 17, 2014, at the Long Branch Restaurant in Amboy.
Those attending included 21 class-mates, 16 classmates from the Class of 1951, 13 family members, and one
former teacher. The group visited the Amboy Railroad Museum to see the bricks laid honoring families in the area.
The next reunion will be at noon Sept. 16, 2015, at the Long Branch Res-taurant.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Sterling High School and Illinois State University. She is employed

Her fiancé is a graduate of Sterling High School and Wyo-ming Technical Institute. He is employed by Slim-N-Hank’s Auto Body.
The couple are planning a June 6, 2015 wedding at Messiah Luther-an Church in Sterling.

50th Anniversary Open House
Diane Rose and Stephen Berley of Sterling were married Oct. 3, 1964, at First Covenant Church in Moline.
They both retired in 1998. Ste-phen was a professional city man-ager, serving in La Grange, Oak Brook, and Sterling, Illinois, and in Harrisonville, Missouri. Diane served as bookkeeper for the Ster-ling-Rock Falls YMCA.
They are the proud parents of two children, Paul of La Grange and Keith of Westmont.
They have two grandchildren, Anthony and Olivia of La Grange.
An open house will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014, at The Big Red Church (First Congrega-tional), 311 Second Ave., Sterling.

Ed Dittmar is celebrating his 90th birthday!
Ed was born Oct. 5, 1924, in Milledgeville, and has spent near-ly his entire life in the area. For several years, Ed worked at the Milledgeville Farmers Elevator, and almost always farmed. His farm-ing often included a Holstein dairy herd.
He especially enjoyed serving on the board and working at the Car-roll County Fair for more than 60 years.
He married Ruby Metz and had two children, Jerry Dittmar and Linda Dittmar Rieselman (deceased in 2012). Later, he married Elaine
Folk (deceased in 1999), with step-children, Dave, Kevin, Frank, and Karen. They also had daughter, Carole Dittmar Raines.
For the past 14 years, Ed has enjoyed the companionship of Ber-nita Bush, and now resides in Mor-rison.
Ed also is a longstanding member of the United Methodist Church in Milledgeville. After church services Sunday, Ed will be recognized by that Methodist congregation by whoever attends morning church service on Sunday, Oct. 5.

100th Birthday
Ardis “Pat” Mangler of Sterling will celebrate her 100th birthday Oct. 10, 2014, with a card shower.
The omission of gifts has been requested.
Pat moved to Heritage Woods in 2009.
She was born in Bellevue, Iowa, and married Clarence Mangler, now deceased. She later moved to Sterling.
Pat raised two daughters, Judy Draper of Sterling and the late Sha-ron Marshall.
She has two grandchildren, Jan Klocke of Dixon and Tom Marshall of Santa Monica, California. She also
has two great-grandchildren, Molly Koberstein of Rock Island and Jake Klocke of Sterling.
Pat worked in the lab department at CGH Medical Center for 25 years, before retiring in 1985. She has been a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Sterling for more than 70 years. She also was a longtime mem-ber of the Edith Eykamp Circle of St. John. Pat loves to read, work puzzles, and is a longtime fan of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox.

He was born Oct. 12, 1924, on the family farm near St. Peter, Minnesota. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was married 40 years to Esther Stern, until her death in 1991. In 1999, he married Dolores Broderick.
He has a daughter, Christine
(John) Pogue of Northfield, Minnesota; a son, John of Chi-cago; a grandson, Dr. Nathan-iel (Kim) Pogue, and a great-grandson, Zeddrick Pogue of College Station, Texas.
Carl was employed for 35 years at Wahl Clipper Corp., retiring as purchasing man-ager.
