svaa bulletin, sept. 2015 - salinas valley art association
TRANSCRIPT
Hello All, I hope this finds you cool, well and
happily looking forward to our next meeting on Sat. Sept. 19th.
Summer was very busy for me, not only starting back testing at the school
district but gathering my paintings for the Avery Gallery show. It turned out
great and Sandra Gray the new art director for Seaside complimented our
SVAA group for being so organized. That put smiles on our faces!
The attendance at the Boronda
Museum Bar-B-Que and Art Show was up quite a bit this year which delighted
those of us who sold paintings... Be sure to attend next year.
I volunteered for the first time accepting paintings for the Monterey County Fair. It
was very interesting being on the other side of the table. I try to enter each
year. It makes it more exciting to attend the fair especiallywhen you win!
Life seems to bring everything on the same day... I have a Baby Shower for
my first Grand baby on the same day as our first meeting back! Sadly I will
miss seeing you at the meeting time of
1p.m. and will also miss our amazing guest artist
Pat Huber. She is not only a great artist but her and her husband Bill are
outstanding members of our community. Hope you are planning on coming, I
know you will enjoy her demo! The board and I are working hard to
make SVAA a valuable asset to you and the Salinas Valley as a whole but this
can only be done with your help!
Please feel free to call or e-mail me
anytime with questions or comments regarding SVAA.

began to take painting instruction from local artists
who have greatly influenced her work.
Most influential of all is Pat’s mom Dee, who was a
lifelong artist and a long time member of SVAA.
Be sure to come to the September meeting on
Sept. 19, 2015 at Petra Bible Church. Meeting starts
at 1 pm. Park in the parking lot. Entrance is off the
parking lot.
We can start off the new meeting year with those of
you whose names begin with A – M bringing
refreshments.
