How to Use

1. Plug the SuzyQ cart into the correct electrical outlet at least 30 minutes prior to serving time. Make sure a certified electrician has done the appropriate wiring – this is the full responsibility of the customer to ensure the proper electrical wiring is in place!

Cart with two heated wells, heated shelf, unheated drawer = 2580 w @ 208 V , 1 phase = 12.4 amps Nema L6-15 (15 amps)

Cart with two heated wells, heated shelf, plus heated drawer

= 2760 watts @ 208 V, 1 phase = 13.3 amps Nema L6-20 (20 amps for safety)

2. Ensure the drain hose valve is in the closed position (handle up) before filling steam wells with water.

3. For hot food, fill the steam wells with 2 - 3 inches (5 – 7cm) of water (do not overfill

steam wells).Turn the individual steam well ON with the dials on the back of the SuzyQ cart and set to desired temperature.

CAUTION: STEAM WELLS ARE HOT WHEN ON.

4. It is recommended to turn the setting to “5” after the water has reached desired

temperature so the sides of the cart don’t get too hot. 5. For cold food, place 2 - 3 inches (5 – 7cm) of water and ice into the steam well.

DO NOT turn the steam well on.

6. For warming plates, turn the plate warming shelf dial “ON” to set desired temperature. CAUTION: PLATE SHELF IS HOT WHEN ON.

7. Insert into the steam wells commercial stainless steel food inserts, up to 6” deep.

Use metal brackets to hold inserts in correct positions.

8. For meal condiments, pull out the condiment shelf into place. 9. Do NOT push or pull the SuzyQ cart via the condiment shelf as this is unstable. 10. Fill the unheated drawers with items needed during meal service (utensils,

condiments, etc.) The top drawer holds 2 full size insert pans, 4 inches deep. The bottom drawer is multi-purpose.

11. Unplug cart by twisting and pulling the plug out of wall. Do not pull by the cord as this will damage the electrical cord.

12. Move the cart out of the kitchen and into dining area.

The 2 front wheels are fitted with directional locks and can be disengaged by pressing the locking mechanism down (all 4 wheels will now swivel). This is helpful to get into tight areas. To re-lock the 2 front wheels, press the locking mechanism up. The wheels will re-lock when they swivel into the locking mechanism (wheels straight).

13. Empty the steam wells by uncoiling the hose, place

hose in a pail or over a water drain, and open the drain valve. Careful that hot water does not splash up into user’s eyes. Wear safety glosses for protection. CAUTION: WATER MAY BE HOT.

14. Clean the cart as per cleaning instructions (attached) Important Non- Warranty details! 1. Do not let the steam well run dry without water in it! It will damage the steam well,

and this is not covered under warranty as it’s “use and wear”.

2. The connection between the plug and cord is not covered by warranty, and it is the responsibility of the facility to get this fixed if the cord and plug are separating. This is usually a result of the cart being moved with it still being plugged into the electrical outlet.

Directional Lock wheels The SuzyQ cart castors are 6"(height) x 1.5 " (width), polyurthrane wheel, double precision bearings, directional locks castors. We believe these are the best castors on the market for our product. If you are needing to travel with the cart down long straight hallways, without a lot of turns, please lock two of the wheels to make them FIXED. This will allow 2 wheels to travel in a straight line, and the other 2 wheels to swivel. If you moving the cart into tight areas, and around a dining room it is recommended that all 4 wheels swivel therefore the 2 wheels are UNLOCKED.

How to Care for your SuzyQ cart Stainless Steel Cleaning Principles

Stainless steel is an alloy of iron which contains more than 10% chromium. Stainless steel resists stains but occasionally dulls or will show oily finger prints. This steel is noted for its hardness and is used for utensils, tableware, sinks, counter tops, and small appliances. In the process of making it, a little of the chromium in the alloy is used to form the hard oxide coating on the surface. If this is taken off, through corrosion or wear, the steel rusts like regular steel. To clean: Wash with a solution of hand dish washing liquid detergent and water; or a solution of baking soda and water. Rinse and polish dry with paper towel or soft cloth (Never use scouring powders or steel wool as they will scratch stainless steel). You can brighten the Hot Food Cart by polishing with a cloth dipped in vinegar, or in ammonia. Then polish dry with paper towel. o Olive Oil. Rub stainless steel sinks with olive oil to remove streaks.

o Vinegar. To clean and polish stainless steel, simply moisten a cloth with undiluted white or cider vinegar and wipe clean.

o Club Soda. Remove streaks or heat stains from stainless steel by rubbing with club soda.

Fact Stainless steels do rust when the passivity (film shield) breaks down by scrapes, scratches, pits, cracks, by deposits and/or chlorides. Therefore the steps to reduce rust are; Tip 1 Use the proper tools. Do not use steel pads, wire brushes or scrapers. Tip 2 Use non-chlorinated cleaners at recommended concentrations. Use only chloride free cleaners. Tip 3 Soften your water. Know the hardness of your water. Use filters and softeners whenever possible. Tip 4 Wipe off cleaning agent (s) and standing water ASAP. Prolonged contact will eventual cause problems.
