million tons of CO2 emissions per year
“Anyhow, the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico will solve itself!”

Deep Sea drilling under the North Pole sea ice? No problem!

Melting ice, global warming, pollution, acid seas etc,
it wont change the Gulf Steam!

Anyhow, volcanoes cause the GHG emissions;
Not to worry! (Volcanoes emits 195 to 255 million short tons of SO2/CO2 every year,
but is still less than 1% (one) of the total CO2 emitted from human
activities.)

1.8M Rooftop PV’s (0.003MW each – 1% in place)
48T Solar Power Plants (300MW each – 1% in place)
40T PV Power Plants (300MW each – 1% in place)
WATER
1.1TW (9% of supply)
490T Tidal Turbines (1MW each – 1% in place)
5,350 GeoThermal plants (100MW each – 2% in place)
900 Hydroelectric plants (1300MW each – 70% in place)
Renewable Installations required Worldwide
in 2030 (BAU = 16.9TW) Renewables = 11.5TW • Water – 1.1TW/ 9% of supply;
– 490,000 Tidal Turbines/ 1MW* (1% in place)
– 5,350 Geothermal plants/ 100MW* (2% in place)
– 900 Hydroelectric plants/ 1300MW* (70% in place)
• Wind -- 5.8TW/ 51% of supply;
– 3,800,000 Wind Turbines/ 5MW* (1% in place)
– 720,000 Wave Converters/ 0.75MW* (1% in place) [wind drives waves]
• Solar -- 4.6TW/ 40% of supply;
– 1,700,000,000 Rooftop PV units/).003MW (1% in place)
– 49,000 Solar Power Plants/300MW (1% in place)
– 40,000 PV Power Plants/300MW (1% in place)
– This covers the majority of the world’s energy requirements, but others such as biofuels, fuel cells and new technology sources are also needed.
The steps into the future Roadmap of Energy!
The good scenario
• Over time, we must replace all use of fossil fuels (oil, coal and gas) with sustainable and renewable energy and product sources; – All terrestrial power generation must be based on power from
Windmills, Wave converters, Hydro Power plants, Solar farms, Solar cells, Geothermal energy sources and other sustainable and non-polluting resources.
– Convert all terrestrial transportation to electrical vehicles except maybe Heavy Road Transportation (HRT).
– Convert world shipping to sustainable/renewable energy sources such as fuel-cells, biofuel and/or other sources with low or zero CO2/GHG emissions.
– Convert all aviation’s requirements from fossil Jet-Kerosene to biofuel with low or zero CO2/GHG emissions.
– So how do we do that – and is it feasible with today’s technology and world economies?
Well, that’s exactly the
subject of today’s workshop;
Energy Strategy 2050 is a Danish
version of global vision.
