RETAIL DESIGN
Whilst working at ID&A I was exposed to the practical elements of retail and hospitality projects. Often involved with site surveys, product research, space planning and meeting design requirements in accordance with tenancy design guidelines.
With many parties involved, and often tight deadlines, great communication was a must. As a designer, I felt advantaged to possess many tools for communication from hand sketching to diagramatics, spoken language to email correspondances, and at times a language other than English such as the use of Chinese.
I also enjoyed explaining visual ideas and gained a sense of satisfaction from doing so.
My time spent as a sales representative at Nickscali Furniture also taught me a lot about the usefulness of being a good visual communicator. This experience had also influenced me philosophically as I now feel that ''where there is space, there will always be a need to explain it.''
