The Educational Service Unit #1 supports migrant families in the area through the assistance of the Title I-Part C Migrant Education Program grant. Because of this opportunity, migrant children benefit from a variety of programs that include: summer programs, support and instructional services. These supplemental services may include (but are not limited to): family literacy, guidance, educational materials, tutoring, health services, interpretation and translation, transportation, nutrition, life skills, and clothing. Please contact us when working with a family who could be eligible for our services. M. Among her duties are coordinating Parent Advisory Council (PAC) events, MEP summer programming, literacy nights, tutoring, and planning instructional services. Once a new student arrives to a district, Susana is the first one to visit to the family’s home to fill out a Certificate of Eligibility. This COE is then submitted to the Nebraska Department of Education for verification. If approved, the family would then become eligible for MEP services. Susana’s recruiting counties include: Burt, Cedar, Cuming, Dakota, Dixon, Knox, Thurston, and Wayne. *Isaura Barreto recruits in the city of Norfolk.
