Susan Henry is a forensic accounting consultant, and has twenty-nine years of experience with the accounting and financial aspects of complex business challenges and conflicts.
Professional Experience Forensic Accounting Consultant For the past seventeen years, Susan has served as a consultant to companies, government and counsel, specializing in matters related to fraud and white collar crime in the following capacities:
• Forensic accountant and investigator • Litigation consultant and testifying expert • Interim executive and financial recovery consultant • Internal audit and compliance advisor
Prior to founding Henry Consulting Group, Susan held senior positions at big four accounting and boutique consulting firms in their dispute and investigations practices.
Susan has lead and /or participated in over 140 engagements, the majority of which were multi- million or billion dollar disputes. Susan often provided post-dispute consultation involving design of internal controls on these cases.
Susan’s consulting experience spans all industries and all types of fraud, litigation and financial recovery.
Internal Auditor and Financial Executive From 1985 to 1997, Susan served as an internal auditor and financial executive, providing leadership in the following accounting and finance functions:
• Financial, operational and regulatory audits • Fraud detection, investigation and prevention • Enterprise and fraud risk assessments • Ethics, policies, procedures and compliance • Control design and implementation • Management accounting and financial reporting
Susan worked for banking, retail and engineering/construction employers, and developed a specialty in government contracting in the 1990s while working at the engineering/construction firm.
Academic Experience Susan has written many articles and conducted numerous presentations on the topics of fraud investigation and prevention, litigation consulting and risk management. She served as advisor to and adjunct faculty for Northwestern University School of Continuing Studies, where she designed and implemented its six course Investigation & Prevention of Commercial Fraud certificate program. She has lectured at numerous universities in the Midwest on the topic of forensic accounting. She has also instructed the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners’ exam review course.
