With many public agencies facing rising OPEB liabilities and the recent implementation of GASB 75 (which requires unfunded OPEB liabilities to be reported on your balance sheet), now is the time for your City to start addressing its long-term OPEB obligations. PARS has helped over 275 public agencies including many Texas Cities address these liabilities.
The PARS OPEB TRUST PROGRAM
The PARS OPEB Trust Program is an IRS-approved, GASB/TX-compliant trust. By prefunding (setting money aside) in a qualified trust you can:
• Lower unfunded liabilities by 30-40% on financial statements• Benefit from potential greater portfolio returns
• Access funds at any time to pay retiree healhcare expenses
