Austria boasts an abundance of spectacular natural scenery – from the Alps to the Danube to the Pannonian plain. And in between these, you can discover the many interesng places and stories that give the country its character. But to be honest, however impressive the Alps, however clear the lakes and however idyllic the towns might be, the thing that ulmately makes a country special are the people who live there. The Austrians in unique, are well known for their relaxed way of life and laid‐back atude – and for their parcular brand of humour. You'll become acquainted with a very special mentality. And a country that knows how to live.

The City of Spielberg is located in the Murtal region. A region that leaves you spoilt for choice and a magnificent natural seng are integral parts of our recipe for carefree holiday adventures! Spectacular mountain peaks and sun‐drenched meadows are waing to be conquered – by you! At altudes from 700 to 2,700 metres, from the gentle summits of the Seetal and Seckau Alps to the more forbidding peaks of the Tauern range, you are certain to live the “high” life in the Murtal holiday region. The cycling trail along the Mur river is one of Austria's most frequented cycling routes and is a great choice for relaxed tours to take in the scenery as well as for more ambious biking enthusiasts. The route takes you through towns and villages that go back 1000 years, past ancient castles and picturesque monasteries.

The Murtal is also thoroughly familiar with words like tee‐off, birdie and pung: On the region's three golf courses, both rookies and pros may be found pracsing their swings. The Red Bull Ring in Spielberg is all about geng your adrenaline to surge: have a go yourself during one of the driving experiences on offer at the racecourse or watch the pros during top racing events. The tour through the Murtal holiday region includes many more stops, such as the planetarium and the Puch museum in Judenburg, the treetop hiking path high above Rachau, the Murau mber world or the “Nockyflitzer” summer toboggan run on Turracher Höhe.

HOW TO GET TO THE CIRCUIT

The early bird catches the worm: Please note that you should expect extensive traffic volumes at the me of your arrival. We therefore recommend trying to arrive as early as possible. The more the merrier! Whereas Daniel Ricciardo & Co. are always alone in their cockpits when they blast around the Red Bull Rin, we recommend filling every seat in your car. This will reduce traffic congeson and allow everybody to get to the event faster.Traffic reports on Hitradio Ö3 radio staon provide regular updates on the current traffic situaon. The Austrian motor‐way operator ASFINAG's free app, too, offers comprehensive informaon regarding traffic jams, accidents, roadworks, closed roads and rest areas.

HISTORY

H e r m a n n T i l ke , t h e w o r l d ' s m o s t renowned race circuit designer himself, took on the task of designing the new Red Bull Ring. The result: a racetrack re m i n i s c e nt o f a n a d ve nt u re p a r k , homolog ized by F I A as "Grade A" .The length of 4.318 km corresponds to the Grand Prix circuit during the period from 1996 to 2003. Two juncons on the racetrack allow for a separaoninto a northern and a southern track. The lower secon (2.4 km) is also suited for major events and uses the main facility's infrastructure. The northern secon, with a length of 1.9 km, can be used as addional space for events. A special feature of this racetrack is the difference in altude (maximum uphill slope of 12 %, maximum downhill slope of 9.3 %).

GREEN LIGHT FOR THE HEROES OF THE TRACK – MOTORSPORT EVENTS AT THE RED BULL RINGWith the inauguraon of the Red Bull Ring in May of 2011, the grand tradion of motor sports entered a new era. Since then, high‐class racing events such as the DTM, ADAC GT Masters, European Le Mans Series or the Truck Race Trophy have been thrilling the fans. You will be hard‐pressed to find a place where you can truly immerse yourself in the world of racing as thoroughly as at the Red Bull Ring. In June of 2014, the first premier class race in 11 years was held at the Red Bull Ring ‐ truly a historic event.

TIMEAustria uses the Central European Time, CET, which is GMT+1.

Austria is located on the borderline between two great climac regimes, the oceanic and the connental, and the weather consequently tends to be fairly variable in different regions. The normal summer temperature varies between 22 °C and 35°C. We hope, it will be sunny, but unfortunately, like everywhere on Earth, somemes it's raining or even snowing.

WEATHERAustria in general does not have a strong tradion of credit card use. What that means is you can never assume that you can pay for your meal, room, ckets or shopping with a credit card. Always check for the appropriate symbol on the door or ll, first. Don't get us wrong – many places in Vienna (especially hotels and other places that regularly serve tourists) do take cards. But many don't, so check first if in doubt. The two most popular cards here are probably VISA and Mastercard.

The relavely low uptake of credit cards in the populaon has its roots in t rad iona l va lues . Aust r ia i s not a c red i t‐dr iven economy; home ownership is not widespread in Vienna, for example.

CREDIT CARDS

In Austria the power sockets are of type F. The standard voltageis 230 V and the standard frequency is 50 Hz, idencal to the most of European countries.Type F: This socket also works with plug C and E. Your need for a power plug adapter depends on the power plugs used in your own country.
