RESEARCH FRAMEWORK
The different areas of intervention for C H require the The different areas of intervention for C.H. require the availability of rigorous information for study and documentation, protection and conservation, restoration, monitoring, risk management
Modern survey techniques and advanced methods of digital data processing make possible new approaches to integrated surveying and control of movable and immovable heritage, functional at different scales of intervention, from the territorial aspects to the structures and the single objectsand the single objects

OBJECTIVES
Establish and operate optimal intervention stab s a d ope ate opt a te e t omethodologies in the field of surveying, control and monitoring, mainly focused into data acquisition, data processing and data integration on a unique database
T d th di i l d t h t i d b Two- and three-dimensional data characterized by their position, accuracy and associated information, to be included and managed by dedicated information systems

CRITICAL ISSUES
Critical issues are primarily related, for each case of study, t th h i f th t i t th d dto the choice of the most appropriate methods and techniques in terms of:- precision- accuracy- timing of monitoring operationsg g p- quality and transferability of representation products - management of digital databases- integration of the data among themselves and with the results of other diagnostic methods- effective usability of digital products and formats foreffective usability of digital products and formats for inclusion in archives and information systems

INSTRUMENTATION The Lab has a complete up-to-date instrumentation:
• Surveying instruments for high precision planimetric or plano-altimetricSurveying instruments for high precision planimetric or plano-altimetricsurveys: engineering first class total stations, digital levels, etc.
• Cameras and workstations for digital terrestrial photogrammetry: generation of 3D models and orthophotos, various data acquisition systems for low-altitude aerial photogrammetry (→ architecture, archaeology)
• Terrestrial laser scanning for different types of subjects and accuracy (small objects / architecture)
• GNSS systems (GPS, GLONASS) of geodetic class for static and kinematic measurements
• Satellite remote sensing image analysis of multispectral / thermal / radar / hyperspectral imagery
• Digital mapping and GIS packages
• Advanced scientific and commercial software packages (all the categories of Geomatics)
