TWO (2) CONTRACTS• 1) Exclusive Songwriter Agreement. Writer

assigns copyright in his songs to the publisher. May be an advance, for an established writer.

• 2) Copublishing Agreement. Publisher transfers 50% of the copyright back to the writer.

• Writer’s share is paid to songwriter - 50% of the publisher’s share is paid to writer’s publishing company.

NET PUBLISHER’S SHARE• The publisher’s share that gets divided is

actually the gross revenue, less:»And administration fee,»Publisher’s direct expenses,»Songwriter royalties.

WHO ADMINISTERS?• One administrator.• One administrator with restrictions. Must

obtain other party’s consent for certain licenses, such as commercials or films.
