Bull DogThe Bulldog clamp is a useful instrument for stopping blood flow to a particular organ of interest during surgery.

In general the bulldog clamp, with its many angled varieties and surgical applications, is an essential tool during surgery where blood flow to an organ must be stopped or controlled.

Bull Dog Angled Varieties

Bulb SuckerBulb sucker also known as nasal bulb syringe or nasal aspirator. It is the perfect tool to help clear a baby's nose when she is suffering from nasal congestion.

Types of bulb sucker

Nasal Aspirator by Human Suction Electric Nasal Aspirator

Bed PanA bedpan is an object used for the toileting of a bedridden patient in a health care facility, usually made of a metal, glass, or plastic receptacle. Many diseases can confine a patient to bed, necessitating the use of bedpans, including Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and apoplexia cerebri. Additionally, many patients may be confined to a bed temporarily as a result of a temporary illness, injury, or surgery, thereby obliging the use of a bed pan.

Cont…The bedpan liners are being used in hospitals to decrease infection and the risk of cross-contaminated disease. Some liners are made of biodegradable plastic and contain absorbent powder to eliminate splashing and spills.

Cold Hot Pack ReusableA versatile, non-toxic cold hot packs use for applying cold therapy or heat therapy.Cold Therapy: Use cold for sprains, Scrapes, bruises and other injuries like minor burns and insect bites. Heat Therapy: Use heat for ongoing aches (headaches, toothaches) and pains. Moderate compression with heat helps promote improved circulation and healing.

Note:  Wrap or cover skin before applying cold-hot pack.

Disposable Goggles

Eye protection provides a barrier to infectious materials entering the eye during the surgery, and specially during laser treatment therapy to wear up goggles necessary for Patient and surgeon too.

Disposable CapsAs a hygienic focus Disposable caps become standard wear to help protect patients from contaminants in hair, Full-face caps also designed for men with beards.

Disposable Shoe coverUse of Disposable shoe cover reduces the risk of acquiring an infection. Specially Intensive Care Units (ICUs) experience higher infection rates due to the severity of illness and frequent use of invasive devices.

Hot Water BottleA hot water bottle (or hottie) is a container filled with hot water and sealed with a stopper, used to provide warmth, typically while in bed, but also for the application of heat to a specific part of the body.

Pregnancy Test StripsThis test strip is used to obtain a visual, qualitative result for the early detection of pregnancy. Basically this strip detect Human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) hormone which is a glycoprotein hormone secreted by the developing placenta shortly after fertilization.

Taper GuardTaper guard invention relates generally to surgical knives, and more particularly to a disposable microsurgical knife having a movable blade guard for protecting the sterility and structural integrity of the knife blade from damage prior to introduction to a sterile field.Taper guard also employed to prevent a surgical saw blade from cutting tissue other than the tissue the blade is intended to cut.

Thermometer (Flat)A Medical thermometer is a device that measures body temperature also known as clinical thermometer. Mostly mercury thermometer is flat in shape and little extra in size. Convenient to hold and easy to read, these thermometers are most accurate and suitable for sub-lingual (under the tongue) and axilary (under the armpit) use. The flat clinical mercury thermometer has dual scale which means you can view the fever in Fahrenheit and Celsius scales.

Thermometer (oral)The bulb of an oral thermometer is either long tipped, pear-shaped, The other (stem) end of the oral thermometer is colored blue. Color-coding thermometers lets you tell an oral thermometer from a rectal thermometer quickly. Because rectal thermometer color coding from stem is red.

Carbolic Acid BP 450mlCarbolic Acid, also known as Phenol, and commonly found in mouthwashes, scrub soaps and surface disinfectants. This class of compounds is used for decontamination of the hospital environment, including laboratory surfaces, and noncritical medical items. Phenolics are not recommended for semi critical items because of the lack of validated efficacy data for many of the available formulations and because the residual disinfectant on porous materials may cause tissue irritation even when thoroughly rinsed. Phenolic disinfectants are generally safe, but prolonged exposure to the skin may cause irritation. The use of phenolics in nurseries is questioned because of toxicity to infants.

Different Products of Carbolic Acid

FormalinFormalin is an aqueous solution of formaldehyde, used as a preservative for biological specimens usually for smaller specimens, it delays, but does not prevent, decay. Mostly use for Incisional biopsy specimens, where tissue is removed for diagnosis from within an affected area.

Formalin as DisinfectantFormalin is a high-level disinfectant, In hospital formalin use as bactericidal, tuberculocidal, fungicidal, virucidal and sporicidal. Formalin solutions (1%–2%) also have been used to disinfect the internal fluid pathways of dialysis machines.

French ChalkFrench chalk, basically a stick of solid talc or magnesium silicate. Its medicinal uses depends on its desiccant and lubricant effects. It is use as a lubricating agent for putting on and removing rubber gloves during any medical procedures. It should not be used on surgical gloves because even small amounts deposited in organs or healing wounds may cause granuloma formation.

GlutaraldehydeGlutaraldehyde is used most commonly as a high-level disinfectant for medical equipment such as endoscopes, spirometry tubing, dialyzers, anesthesia and respiratory therapy equipment, also reuse of laparoscopic disposable plastic trocars. Glutaraldehyde is noncorrosive to metal and does not damage lensed instruments, rubber or plastics.

Hydrogen per oxideHydrogen peroxide is a stable and effective disinfectant when used on inanimate surfaces. It is useful for cleaning surgical sites after closure.Hydrogen peroxide also has been instilled into urinary drainage bags in an attempt to eliminate the bag as a source of bladder bacteriuria and environmental contamination .Hydrogen per oxide also use and to remove ear wax and as antiseptics for cleaning wounds but use sparingly to avoid penetrating suture lines, which would inhibit healing.
