KCPS Superintendent Search Process Timeline

The KCPS Board of Directors has approved a superintendent search process and developed a tentative timeline for implementation, with a desired goal of identifying and hiring a permanent superintendent prior to the 2016-2017 school year. Following is a general timeline:

July 2015 Search consultant conducts community engagement including online survey tool, focus groups and town hall meetings to gather input on draft superintendent profile and draft job description with stakeholders: Parents, Teachers and Principals; KCPS Students; Business and Civic Partners; Search consultant convenes town hall to report results of community engagement and input; KCPS Board approves candidate profile and job description; superintendent position is posted and announced

August to December 2015 KCPS superintendent applications reviewed and screened by search consultant, KCPS Board

October to March 2016 KCPS Board interviews finalist candidates; Finalists introduced to community; KCPS Board approves superintendent; New superintendent announced
