• Open www.gtslearning-courses.net

• Select a course– For a free evaluation, click the

“CompTIA Course Sampler”– If you have an enrolment key, click

the relevant course name

• Click the “Create New Account” button

• Complete the “New Account” form with your registration details

• Click the link or copy and paste it into your browser’s address bar

Starting a New Course (1)

• If you have not previously completed any sort of study material, you can use Freestyle to study a course from scratch

• Section 1 in the course contains the outline, exams, and glossary

• Take the pre-requisites test to check that you meet the course requirements

• The course is divided into modules and units

• Click a unit to watch the videos and read the course content

• Use the Lesson Menu to navigate between topics

• You can click highlighted terms to look them up in the glossary

• At the end of each lesson you can complete a short quiz to test your knowledge

• The quiz is not scored but you can review your answers against the model answers at the end

• You can chat to other students following Freestyle courses and watching Professor Messer’s videos

• Use the searchable glossary to lookup terms and concepts

Revision and Exam Prep (1)

• If you have already completed some CompTIA Certification training, you can use Freestyle’s Prescriptive Testing to prepare fully to take the certification test

• Start the Practice Exam using the link in the first section of the course

• Each quiz has the same number of questions and time limit as the real CompTIA exam

• The quiz questions are randomized each time you take the test

• The questions are weighted in the same way as the domain objectives

• As you would in the real exam, read the question carefully and select the best answer

• You can flag questions for review later

• At the end of the quiz, a summary screen is displayed

• You can go back and amend any answers or spot questions you may have skipped or flagged

• When you have finished the quiz, work through the summary report

• Concentrate on questions you got wrong – click the link to open the relevant unit in the course

• Use the Lesson Menu to locate the appropriate heading then read the course notes and watch the videos to better understand the topic

• You can retake the quiz as many times as you like

• Your attempts are stored under the “Info” link off the navigation menu

• When you are achieving an exam-passing score consistently you should be confident about attempting the actual exam
