Dr Reena Rajasuriar is a senior lecturer in the

Department of Pharmacy, University of Malaya and an

adjunct Research Fellow at the Peter Doherty Institute

for Infection and Immunity, Melbourne University,

Australia. She is also a post­doctoral scientist for the

Centre of Excellence for Research in HIV/AIDS

(CERiA) in University of Malaya where

she coordinates the translational research program in

HIV immunology. Her current research focuses on the

immunopathogenesis of accelerated aging and

modulators of immune activation in HIV. Don't miss

Professor Jeff Klausner is a Professor of Medicine

in the Division of Infectious Diseases and Professor of

Public Health, Department of Epidemiology, University

of California Los Angeles. As former Director San

Francisco Department of Public Health STD program

and Chief CDC­PEPFAR South Africa HIV and TB

branch, Dr. Klausner helped identify key factors

associated with the increased spread of HIV and

STDs and implemented multiple novel public health

prevention and treatment programs. Don't miss his

plenary regarding Self­testing

Professor Monica Lahra is the Medical Director,

Division of Bacteriology, and Director of the World

Health Organisation Collaborating Centre for STD,

Sydney, based in the Department of Microbiology,

New South Wales Health Pathology at The Prince of

Wales Hospital in Sydney. Professor Lahra is in

charge of diagnostic bacteriology, and the operations

and programmes of the WHO CC. This role includes

the responsibility for national and international AMR

surveillance networks.

Dr Tariq Sadiq is Reader and Consultant Physician at

St George’s, University of London. He graduated in

Medicine at Southampton University in 1989 and

following post­graduate professional training obtained

his MD from University College London in 2005,

where he investigated the impact of bacterial sexually

transmitted infections on antiretroviral resistant HIV

strains. His current research interests include

pathogenesis/genomics of STIs and also the

development and evaluation of diagnostic

technologies for rapid antimicrobial resistance

detection and e­health care.
