EAZISTRIP REINFORCEMENT CONTINUITY SYSTEM

The Eazistrip Reinforcement Continuity System is a quick and easy to install method of maintaining continuity of reinforcement at construction joints in concrete It consists of a galvanised steel casing with a dimpled surface to provide an effective concrete bond

Pre-bent bars are housed within the casing and are enclosed by a protective cover Each end of the unit is sealed with apolystyrene block in order to prevent the ingress of concreteThe complete unit is nailed to the formwork Alternatively it can be wired back to the main reinforcement cage The concrete is then cast

After striking the formwork the cover is removed and the bars are straightened ready for lapping onto the main reinforcement using an Eazistrip re-bending tool The steel casing remains embedded in the wall and is filled with concrete when the next section is poured the dimpled surfaceproviding an efficient key

Channels Ancon Channels are produced in a range of profiles

Fixing to channels Fixing to channels is by lsquoTrsquo head boltsThese are inserted into the channel and turned through 90deg

Cast-in channels and sockets These sockets offer a simple solution to fixing into concrete for locations where adjustment is either unnecessary or can be provided elsewhere

Surface fixed channels Ancon Channels can be supplied without the anchor lugs for surface fixing to concrete steelwork and other materials

Fixing boltsA range of fixing bolts are also available including expansion bolts high performance bolts set screws and drill set screws

WINDPOSTS

Large panels of masonry or panels with openings can often be difficult to justify structurally The traditional solutions have been to either increase the thickness of the wall or introduce an additional column Ancon Windposts fit within the wall allowing the existing thickness to be maintained

Ancon WP1 and WP3 Windposts Ancon WP1 and WP3 Windposts are channel section windposts which are designed to be installed within the cavity leaving the blockwork undisturbed The windposts are complete with end connections and ties which fit into the vertical slots in the flanges of the channel section

Ancon WP2 Windposts Ancon WP2 Windposts are angle section windposts designed for either small cavities or where wind loads are high One leg of the angle windpost is built into the blockwork and the blockwork tied through the leg of thewindpost to minimise any possible movement or cracking of internal finishes If a vertical movement joint is required in place of a tied joint ties with a plain end on one side can be supplied

Ancon WP4 Windposts Ancon WP4 Windposts are generally used in internal blockwork walls that have a lsquofair facedrsquo finish to both sides and where the windposts cannot protrude beyond either face Sometimes referred to as lsquospinersquo posts theyare flat plates designed to fit within the wall Although the depth of a WP4 post is limited by the width of the masonry (ideally 20mm less than the wall width) the thickness of the post can vary to increase its load capacity

DSD SHEAR LOAD CONNECTORS

The DSD range of connectors offers significant advantages over plain dowels Each connector is a two-part assembly comprising a sleeveand a dowel component Installation is a fast and accurate process drilling of either formwork or concrete is not required The sleeve is simply nailed to the formwork ensuring subsequent alignment with the dowel essential for effective movement

Ancon DSD The Ancon DSD is the original two-part double dowel shear load connector The two dowels are Duplex stainless steel bar The dowelcomponent can move longitudinally within the sleeve to accommodate movement The connector is available in ten standard sizes and has design capacities from around 20kN to over 950kN The larger connectors can beused in joints up to 60mm wide Larger joints can be accommodated using special dowels

SHEARFIX - PUNCHING SHEAR REINFORCEMENT

Used within a slab to provide additional reinforcement around columns Ancon Shearfix is the ideal solution to the design and construction problems associated with punching shear The system consists of double-headed studs welded to flat rails positioned around the column head or base The shear load from the slab is transferred through the studs into the column Shearfix is suitable for all column shapes and is easy to install either lsquotop downrsquo or lsquobottom uprsquo depending on user preference

The Ancon Shearfix system is manufactured to suit the specific requirements of each application The quantity of each component the dimensions and spacings and the layout pattern around the column are determined by calculation Studs are manufactured in six diameters (1012 14 16 20 and 24mm) from high strength steel bar The heads are hot forged to three times the diameter of the bar Studs are manufactured in virtually any length to suit the depth of slab but are normally formed in increments of 10mm within the 100-500mm range The bar used in this system has a characteristic yield strength of 500Nmm2 The studs are welded to the rail at the determined centres The rail performs no structural function but ensures stud alignment and positioning within the slab Shearfix rails are manufactured from strips of steel 16mm wide The gap between the strips allows for concrete during pouring and also enables the rail to be nailed through spacers to formwork when fixed lsquobottom uprsquo ie prior to all other reinforcement
