The Boji Marine/RV Filter/Softener is constructed of the finest thermoplastic materials and should provide a lifetime oftrouble free use. There are no moving parts to wear out and the softener is resistant to all corrosive environmentsencountered in boating. The unit is designed to soften your dockside water supply, providing you with generous amountsof soft water for drinking, bathing and washing your boat or RV.

The Boji Marine/RV Filter/Softener can be installed in-line for dockside pressure water supply or can be used to fill yourvessel's or RV's inboard water storage tank. The result— water suds easier, is less corrosive to inboard plumbing andminimizes unsightly stains and water spots. The Boji Marine/RV Filter/Softener is also an indispensable aid in washing yourboat or RV. Say good-bye to difficult to remove deposits on bright work and windows.

The Boji Marine/RV Filter/Softener works in the same manner as a commercial manually operated water conditioner. Thereare no time clocks, solenoids or directional valves to malfunction. No external power source is required. The unit is simplyinstalled between the water supply hose. When the water is turned on, water flows through the softener, softening as itgoes. That's all there is to it!

Depending on the hardness of the water supply source, your Boji will require periodic regeneration to maintain its watersoftening capabilities. This is easily done utilizing a canister type water filtration unit and pure pelletized water softenersalt cubes, available from a variety of local sources.

Using Genova Plastic Tubing Cutters (PN53499), cut tubing squarely to length.Mark tubing 1¼" from end to provide avisual aid to ensure complete insertionof the tube into the fitting (this stepmay be eliminated once installer hasacquired the "feel" of proper tubeseating).

Inspect the end of the tubing for burrsand chamfer with Genova ChamferingTool (PN 53489) if necessary.

Lubricate the tubing and fitting withliquid soap or Genova All PurposeLubricant (PN RW206) prior to insertion.

Loosen fitting nut approximately oneturn and firmly push tubing all the wayinto the fitting, to the 1¼" mark, withouttwisting.

Hand tighten the fitting nut...the joint isready!

Our research of the potable water distribution systems now being used in the various O.E.M.segments of the marine industry has indicated that a "Potpourri" type system has evolved.These systems are made up of a combination of different piping materials installed from thewater tanks to the various water-fed fixtures. The systems range from flexible vinyl hose andbarbed fittings, to solvent welded irrigation and chemical process PVC piping, to acetal fittings,or combinations of all three. The result has been plumbing nightmares, costly to bothmanufacturer and boat owner. In essence, the systems currently being employed, in manycases, don't match up to the quality and engineering normally found in the boats being built bytoday's reputable boat manufacturers. To continue this practice means big dollars in labor andmaterials, spending much more than what a correctly engineered system would cost!

Here at Genova, we specialize in the creation and sale of "systems," not component parts. Genova warrants all of its 100 Series products to be manufactured in accordance to applicable ASTM standards and to function properlywithin the limitations posed by standard residential plumbing applications when installed in accordance with good plumbing practice andspecific recommendations outlined in our installation manuals. Canned products are warranted to have a shelf life of 12 months from dateof delivery or 18 months from the date of manufacture as attested to by the date imprinted thereon.

Genova high-temperature water pipe has a long-term stress rupture of 100 PSI at 180°F steady water temperature. Genovamanufactures their CPVC pipe and fittings to conform to ASTM Standard 2846. Genova manufactures their CPVC and Universal fittings toconform to ASTM Standard D-3309. Storage or installations where the product is exposed to direct sunlight should be avoided. Whilereasonable care has been taken in the manufacture, we cannot guarantee performance of installed jobs, because we have no controlover the wide range of installation conditions present. To adapt from traditional piping materials, a special group of patented transition fittings should be used. These fittings are therecommended method of compensating for the different coefficients of expansion which exist between all dissimilar materials - the use ofother methods or fittings may result in system leaks. Do not enclose transition fittings in walls or other inaccessible places as a matter ofgood plumbing practice.
