Settings for Supersession for Service Parts Planning: Configuration Guide
1 PurposeThe purpose of this document is to describe the general configuration steps required to manually set up the configuration within the system landscape that has already been installed using the corresponding installation or configuration guides for installation.
If you do not want to configure manually and prefer an automated installation process using BC Sets and other tools, refer to the Quick Guide of your SAP rapid-deployment solution that is attached to the SAP Note 1578223.
This document supplements the existing Customizing documentation in the Implementation Guide (IMG) and provides additional information where required.
2 Preparation
2.1 PrerequisitesBefore adjusting the content, make sure that the automated content (BC-sets, eCATTs, Transports) has been imported in the system. Ensure that the system is compliant to the software requirements, stated in the Software Requirements document.
Before you start installing this scenario, you must install the prerequisite building blocks. For more information, see the Building Block Prerequisites Matrix for SAP Service Parts Planning rapid-deployment solution. You find this document in the content library, attached to the Step-by-Step Guide.

3.1 Supersession Master Data Settings
3.1.1 Assign Replacement Types to Replacement Strategies
Use
In this IMG activity, you can assign replacement types to a strategy to model replacement strategies. For more information about replacement strategies and modeling replacement strategies, see the SAP Library SAP Supply Chain Management Advanced Planning and Optimization (APO) Service Parts Planning (SPP) Product Interchangeability in Service Parts Planning Replacement Strategies in Service Parts Planning.
Procedure 1. Access the activity using the following navigation option:

In this IMG activity, you define the Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP) service profile used in the supersession service.

UseYou activate the global standard service profile for DRP. You only have to do this once. As of then, DRP uses this service profile whenever no other DRP service profile is specified.

UseIn this IMG activity, you make general global settings for Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP). Global means that these settings are always used independent from the DRP service profile, product, or location.

In this IMG activity, you define trigger groups and trigger attributes. You can use the trigger groups in the Define Planning Profile IMG activity of the Planning Service Manager. The trigger attributes are evaluated in the Triggers for Planning File Entry transaction.
Procedure Proceed as follows to manually define the trigger groups:
1. Access the activity using the following navigation option:
IMG Activity SCM Basis → Data Management Layer → Triggers (for Planning File Entry) → Define Trigger Groups and Attributes

2. Choose New Entries and make the following settings:

3.3.2 Creating Planning Profiles for Planning Services
UseYou define the following planning profiles for all your planning services:
YSPP_SUPER (planning profile for supersession and supersession realignment)
Where it is applicable, a trigger group has been assigned to the following planning profiles:
YSPPTSUPER SPP Supersession - T
Having one Planning Profile without trigger group makes it easier to test the services. Planning Profiles with trigger groups enable working with the trigger concept in the SAP SPP solution.
Procedure Proceed as follows to manually define the selections:
1. Access the activity using the following navigation option:

4 SPP Customizing – Maintain General Settings for Demand History
4.1 Maintain Fiscal Year Variant Definition UseTo configure SCM and BW, you have to check and adjust (if required) the Fiscal Year Variant.
Procedure1. Access the activity using the following navigation option:
SAP SCM IMG Menu SAP - Implementation Guide → Advanced Planning and Optimization → Supply Chain Planning → Service Parts Planning (SPP) → Forecasting → Make General Settings for Demand History
Transaction Code /SAPAPO/PDEMCUST
2. In the Dialog Structure, choose General Settings for Demand History.
3. Select Fiscal Year Variant (if technical names are visible, look for PERIV).
4. Check or create the following settings for Fiscal Year Variant:

5. Save.
6. In case you changed the value, a warning message is raised “Time buckets profile 9AFCST_PERKZ_P also changed (bus. Year variant changed in K3)”, Message no. /SAPAPO/PDEM264

This message only states that fiscal year variant K3 is saved in table /SAPAPO/SDPTBPOS in field PERIV_1 for the entry with key TBID = 9AFCST_PERKZ_P.
7. Accept the warning with ENTER.
Result You have checked and changed (if required) the Fiscal Year Variant Definition in your SAP SCM system.
4.2 Maintain Settings for Predefined Demand CategoriesUseYou must check that the appropriate Predefined Demand Categories are defined, and that the appropriate Demand Categories are flagged as relevant for Forecasting.
Procedure1. Access the activity using the following navigation option:
SAP SCM IMG Menu SAP - Implementation Guide → Advanced Planning and Optimization → Supply Chain Planning → Service Parts Planning (SPP) → Forecasting → Make General Settings for Demand History

2. In the Dialog Structure, choose Predefined Demand Categories.
3. Check or create the following Predefined Demand Categories settings:
