C.I.S Engineering started trading in 1998 as Central Information Services, in Vereeniging. The company was restructured into C.I.S Engineering in 2007 and forms part of the Structa Group of Companies.

C.I.S Engineering focusses on the manufacturing of light to heavy steel structures for the telecommunications and power industry sectors.

C.I.S Engineering is located in NW7, Vanderbijlpark. Our premises occupy a combined area of 35,100m², which includes a dispatch area of 15,000m², an undercover roof overhead crane area of 10,100m², an administrative area of 1,000m² and a further 9,000m² open space area.

The plant houses dedicated modern mast tower and steel manufacturing equipment, while design facilities include a full 3D CAD capability and all in-house designs are approved by professional engineers.Our workshop boasts three high definition plasma cutting machines, a state of the art Pedinghaus CNC drilling line and two CNC angle iron workers.

C.I.S Engineering has successfully manufactured structural steelwork for buildings, warehouses and a variety of smaller structures such as gantries, chutes, hoppers and crane girders. C.I.S Engineering designs, manufactures and installs such structures.

MANUFACTURING PROCESSC.I.S Engineering employs automated angle processing and automated beam drilling lines, capable of high volume to ensure accurate manufacturing.High definition plasma cutting facilities are employed to manufacture flanges, connecting elements and lattice towers.

SURFACE FINISHComponents can be hot dip galvanized or factory prepared and painted to customer specification.

C.I.S Engineering designs and manufactures a wide range of communication towers, typically ranging from 10-60m in light, medium and heavy loading ranges. Some 3000 structures have been supplied to industries since 1998. Capabilities include manufacturing of tubular and angle-lattice structures. C.I.S Engineering also supplies turnkey services for casting of foundations and tower erection.

C.I.S Engineering has successfully designed and fabricated sectional steel transmission towers for electrification lines up to 400kv. These towers were tested and approved by ESKOM and are successfully utilized by ESKOM in lieu of lattice and concrete structures. This wide range of towers are listed as commodity items with ESKOM National.

Our standard ranges of pylons have been type tested at the ESKOM tower testing facilities to validate our designs. Our facilities are extended to incorporate capable and proven engineering practises to manufacture all supporting structures, platforms, bolts, ladders, brackets, etc. which form part of a complete product.

C.I.S Engineering has successfully supplied in excess of 31,500 sectional towers (pylons) to the electrification industry. Our towers are utilized in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Zambia, Mali, Malawi, Namibia, Botswana, Lesotho and various other countries in Africa.

C.I.S Engineering boasts ISO 9001-2015 certification for welded manufacturing. C.I.S Engineering is able to perform Pedinghaus computer numerically controlled drilling on base plates, flanges, beams and columns as well as bending of polygonal poles with a plate thickness of up to 16mm and a length of up to 12,500mm in one complete section, plasma cutting up to 45mm, oxy-cutting up to 300mm and automated submerged arc welding up to 4 000 mm in diameter.

C.I.S Engineering is certified to ISO 9001:2015 and the system covers all aspects of the design and manufacturing process.

C.I.S Engineering has access to modern structural analysis techniques such as Finite Element Analysis and designs can therefore be verified in great detail. All designs are approved by professional engineers.

Full 3D CAD systems include Allycad, Solid Edge and Tekla.

Where required our structures undergo full-scale structural qualification testing.
